We're working with our new pup and Brandon's advise was just what I needed. Wish he'd just come and train for me haha but it's good for us and happy to have this new set of tools to use on our pup.

My dogs love watching your videos as much as I do. No kidding. My Schnauzer is always attentive when you you are giving commands to the dogs in your videos. Less so when you are just talking to the audience as you primarily do in this one. But still he watches. I swear the way you talk just resonates with him. Must be the confident way you communicate.

I wish my friend (and her pomeranian) would take this to heart. She (well meaningly) rewards the bad behaviour and doggis barking is getting worse.

I have a 4 year old rescue Belgian shepherd who is extremely fearful but thanks to your videos together we are making great strides in increasing his confidence however, he has never had a chance to play. I've noticed this with my Cane corso I'm training him consistently and lots of perseverance with him hes 7 months... teenage years! but other people let there dogs lunge and him bark, growl etc 🙄 if he was to do that would be a different story 🙄 So everytime I see a dog now and see the signs, i have get him in a sit position, get in his space to say its ok, works most the time... not always but will get there 💪

All my dogs so far have been rescue dogs and I have even fostered some and got them to a good home. First thing I always do is telling them NO! NO, you do not chase the cat. NO, you do not try to kill the chickens. NO, you do not try to bite a cows leg (even though a cow is very good in telling that for herself 😅) NO, you do not decide where you are going I do that. It really doesn’t take them long to understand that and they calm down Edit: I forgot a very big NO. NO barking in the car!!!!! Scared me silly that one time. I nearly drove off the road. Dog got a verbal “beating “ and never did it again 😅😢

I'm so glad I came across this video. I just got a rescue who is a 2-year-old American bulldog, he was abused by his Trainor and shuffled around from kennel to kennel. He is a very loving boy but has some aggression toward people, I did buy him a muzzle which he tries to pull off.

Thank you for sharing this!! This had really good reminders that I need to work on personally, as I continue to train and build my relationship with my 8 month old Dobie, Willow. It has been tricky and I feel I haven't found that perfect balance between pushing her out of her comfort zone and also respecting and understanding her limits...not pushing her too far. I feel like I failed in this area if I am being honest, especially during her recovery post spay surgery. I will also be attending group classes with her on this. Fingers crossed.

Such great advice. What I've been struggling the most is with my ex-racing greyhounds prey drive. We have great moments of loose leash walking that makes the walk so enjoyable, but as soon as a cat/squirell/fox shows up, she goes nuts and completely ignores me.

I have beagle cross rescue dog he is 11months and the only time he listen too me is when he is tired after his walk and a run in dog park..lots of people have told me this type of dog is impossible to train but I refuse to believe this . I have recently adopted a 4year old staffy mix rescue. She has been doing amazingly well and learned a lot of things very quickly, doesn't pull on walks anymore. The only thing I cannot seem to get better on with her is the fact when she sees another dog on a walk, she goes berserk. She gets so excited and hyped, starts pulling, jumping the leash and whining. She is in no way showing signs of aggression. For she seems like she HAS TO say hello to the dog. Otherwise she'll whine the rest of the walk and keep looking back to where the other dog was. (Although this got better, she calms down relatively quickly after seeing another dog now and continues to walk heel afterwards) I cannot seem to make her stay calm during those events. We can't walk past dogs without her jumping and pulling and hurting both of us in the process. For other dog owners of course it looks intimidating. She has other dogs with me here regularly as I foster rescues and sit dogs aswell and she shows absolutely zero interest in any other dog once she sniffed them once. It's literally as if she HAS TO sniff a dog before she can calm down again and walk completely fine again and behave normally. I've tried several tactics from several trainers and it just does not get any better. If anyone has suggestions on what we could do, I'd be very thankful!

Will, I just discovered your channel, and I’m so excited!! Ready to learn! I’m selecting my first-ever dog soon, and I’d like to maximize my efforts and be as prepared as I can be. I believe a smaller dog will be a better choice for me (a NYC apartment), and I’ve decided to avoid breeds that require haircuts. (I’m okay with grooming and brushing and cleaning up after a dog that sheds.) What breeds, behaviorally, might be best to consider? With your teaching, I’m okay with a rescue dog who may need some special attention. I like Frenchies, for example, and I’ve read to be very prepared for 4-6 months to potty train a puppy. I also plan to visit several sources / shelters / owners, and I will NOT grab the first dog I see. I plan to walk away from the first few visits simply as a matter of principle. I really enjoy your videos, in the coming months me and my family are moving back to UK from Poland, our dog Murphy is getting all his checks and jabs for the trip, hoping he will not have to quarantine, he will stay behind at my In-laws for about 2 weeks, then I will return and bring him with an organization, that transports dogs by car, the trip is 16hrs, we are a little worried about how the trip will effect him mentally, I will travel with him, I wouldn't let him travel with people he doesn't know, is there any tips you could give? Hi Will, nice lessons, but I have a question. Dogs should not make decisions when on a leash. Only after break, released from the leash, she can do her own things. How oes that work when living in a city, and not every day it is possible to go to a park where they can move freely?

Do you have any advice for a 10 week old basset hound puppy? I've been working on crate training but sometimes during our playtimes in-between he gets grumpy and wants to bark at the cat, or chew on things he isn't supposed to and his stubborn attitude isn't letting me redirect him to things he should chew! Should he just go back to the crate if he is bitey and not listening?

Hiya Will! I've really enjoyed watching your videos, especially on the subject of stopping your dog from pulling! I've got an XL Bully, for 8 months, she turns 2 in February 2023. She had no formal training and I've managed to get her to sit 95% of the time when told; stay, (lie)down and heel still remains an issue - her pulling over time has got worse! Plus no interaction from her, at all! I'm using your technique of snapping the lead when attached to her flat collar (it's all I have) - positive reaction though with the occasional interaction ie looking at me as well...but short lived...as soon as I go back to the harness, excessive pulling again! Any suggestions, advice or tips?

Hi Will love Ur videos, I adopted my American Bulldog when she was 8Months old & it's been a hard slog but she's now a advocate for her breed & my world. Question tho can you crate Train older dogs? I didn't want to crate her when I rescued her because of her past however it cost me dearly with duvets pillows & cushions amongst other things if I left her to nip to the local shop. I work from home now & we spend 24hrs together & if I do have to go out my son is with her.

Hey will I keep watching your videos, and have learned most of what I know about my dog and what to do with her from you, and for this I am eternally greatful❤ But my puppy id “different” and I need help. I have tried our vet, and other training centers locally, but nobody seems to know what to do with her. I need help! She has 2 main issues- she won’t eat, and is pretty much not at all food motivated, which makes it impossible to train her. She is also not really toy motivated. Someone recently posted a tictok thing by someone claiming to be a dog trainer and referring to the dog owner handler as a ‘care giver’ - made me feel quite nauseous 😂 this individual was also highly passive aggressive, claiming he wasnt critisising a TV dog trainer and then spending the rest of the post doing exactly that ….
