We have taken 5 feet cantilever beam for stair in midlanding,beam size 6 inches ×21 inches. Used 16 mm and 12mm bar is it safe ?/ can we suport cantilever beam by small column. ? Please reply. Thanks for information.

I am a daily viewer of your chanel. And I want to construct 2nd floor on my 2 storey building. For your information we use 16 mm bar on pillar and beam on both storey and now can I use 12 mm tmt bar against 16 mm bar only on roof beam. Please give your suggestion.

In tapered section of cantilever beam , while showing the structural drawings , ring hook must be at bottom and not on top of beam. It is quite well known fact , that cantilever beam have tension at top and eventually it may open up ... pl check the drawing in section 17-17 in your video ..

Its very confusing for non- engineers whether the steel rebar in the beam should be continued through the cantilever beam or should be provided separately in tapering cantilever beam. If someone can clarify on this then I would be very grateful.

Reinforcements should be continuous till cantilever beam from main beam, don’t provide lapping near the last column, if lapping is needed it should be done only in the mid part of the beam
