This might be a biased point of view, but I think he didn’t go with the mistress because she wasn’t enough for him to leave his wife, a stable presence in his life he’s had. In the past I was involved with 2 men and not proud of it, but it made me realize both had qualities I loved. I ended up not choosing either because it showed me neither was my right person and I think in this case the husband isn’t a fit for either woman in this situation. Not trying to excuse his behavior in the drama, but just speculating on what he maybe was thinking in not choosing the mistress after getting kicked out.

@@ladyvigilante thanks for your response. I think I understand what you’re saying, basically as a mistress she fit what he needed but as a lifetime partner he needed something different. Perhaps she ruined their relationship in the end when she pursued him through his son and going to his home. I haven’t seen this whole drama, honestly I don’t think I can. The clips were too much for me to bear. Thank you.

From what I remember, he had been trying for a while to break things off with Ling You You until she was able to seduce him sexually. He supposedly felt guilty and no longer wanted to be with her, to the point of buying her plane ticket back home. Ling You You wasn’t satisfied with just being the side chick and wanted him to only be with her. Which is why she refused to leave and started making trouble on purpose. She says she’s “sorry” but she really isn’t. He knew she wasn’t sorry and did all of this on purpose when he tried to end things with her. Her expression says it all when he tells her he’ll never choose her over Gu Jia. Honestly pretty fitting, the mistress not getting what she wants in the end.
