Dorothy Moore ‘s vocals were deep, throaty, sexual, and boasted angelic and devilish octaves which reached to the depth of all listeners souls! A dynamite performance and song!
Saw Strictly dancing where the couple danced to this beautiful song. Oh my! Brought me back to my youth to when I first heard this song. I had to come back to listen to this beautiful version of this soulful song.
God kissed her throat and said.. " sing Dorothy...sing". She parts her lips and from her heart and soul pours slow dripping golden honey. Right in the feels! Superb! Simply stunning. This made me weep. ❤
This is one of the most soulful ballads I have ever heard in my life and her rendition just makes me lose my composure every time, there is so much feeling, very simple but very very effective. This is what I call real soul singing.
Beautiful Lady, Beautiful Voice, Beautiful Song...My wife and I were very fortunate to be in her presence at a small upstairs venue called Wilebski's in Frogtown St. Paul, MN. When we got home that wintery February nite in 1988 night my wife was to have her first episode of a "beautiful sickness"... We later discovered she was pregnant with our 1st child. Thank You Dorothy Moore....
This is one of the most beautiful song that was ever written and sung so beautifully by Ms. Dorothy Moore. Some songs are just meant for one person to sing them, and this happens to be one of those Special songs. I don’t care who sing “Misty Blue” , nobody sings it like her. NOBODY. This song came out when I was dating my husband. I use to play this record and sing it to him, and he wouldn’t do nothing but Blush, but I was dead serious singing it to him. This song has a lot of meaning to it. And it would “Take Me There”.
This is my first time hearing this live, and it is just as beautiful as the studio version. Her voice is amazing, and I regret I never saw her in concert.
I,"ve played this song 6 x today. And though, omg, who is he. Just watched her, WOW. I wanted her to keep sing & singing. I feel i want to go and learn how to sing, just so i can sing that song into my hairbrush.
Thank you for posting this, she has a wonderful voice and a warm and lovely personality which shines through this performance. A great song for sure, but she delivers it with an abundance of soul and real feeling, which makes it sound even lovlier than the original recording. We were sure lucky to be around when there were a plethora of magnificent male and female soul singers, thanks for the memories.
Just given a bottle of Russell Bourbon a hiding going through all of Dorothy Moore's classic's. What an entertainer, what a singer and Misty Blue is just such a jewel of a song. I can only hope that because the Russell doesn't have 'Jack' before it I might get away without being bitten tomorrow morning. You have great singers, from an Aussie.
Dorothy Moore sings this song the way it's MEANT to be sung. Why does every singer who takes it on now, insist on over singing it with all those irritating and self-indulgent runs? They ruin it!
@@masarabbitrabbitvwyokohama I agree with you, masa. Every note and lyric came from the depths of her soul. Dorothy Moore gives me chills with this song each and every time I hear it. Her raspy wail...those lyrics...the way she HONORS the song's melody. She's BRILLIANT.
A lot of people must feel like I do when I hear this song ,For me it's 40 year's and counting ,shore I wish I could forget , in fact I think I could ,If we talked talked for 5 minutes , that is what I think she is afarid of , she doesn't want to be forgoten,
Thank You !! I'm so happy that you like it. Unfortunately, I don't have the Ms.Denise you want. I saw Ms.Dennis' stage in Japan in 1980 and 1986. It was a great stage. I wish I could have taken a video.
@@legacyofdeniselasalle8761 I don't remember the first time. In 1986 Tokyo was The LIVE-INN. It was at the same venue as my channel The Ovations. Many fans were enjoying the stage on the 5th floor of the building.
@@masarabbitrabbitvwyokohama Hey again lol! I have a quick question. I've been after those two performances since you informed me of them. In Japan, Do film the performances of singers? if so, Is it anyone I could contact. I can't seem to track down any info of the places she's performed at in 1980 but I did find an article that states she toured in japan in 1980 during her days of MCA Records.
