Upon arriving into Budapest I opted to spend a few hours spotting at the airport. Originally my plan was to visit the visitors terrace however that was closed due to 'snow and ice' despite there not being any sign of snow or ice! So I got a Bolt (Their version of Uber) to a spotting hill near the threshold for Runway 31R which overlooked the touchdown point for arrivals. It was a bitterly cold afternoon with a gloomy mist present. I stayed at the official Spotter hill for about 2 hours and caught a decent variety of inbounds.
Sorry that this video is so short! I couldn't film much after touchdown as a big building obstructs half the view and on the other side trees obstruct the view of the approach. This is an official 'Spotterdomb' and its perhaps good for photography but not the best for those taking videos. I managed to film touchdowns at least so I hope you enjoy what you see. I apologies for the trees obstructing the view at times
In this video, planes featured include: Wizz Air A320's and A321 NEO's, Ryanair 737's, a Qatar A330-300, LOT E190LR, Albastar 737-800, Iberia A320, Easyjet A320 NEO, Norwegian 737, Helvetic E190, Lufthansa A321 and a Czech Airlines ATR 72-500
Like I said I was only here for a short while, and Budapest isn't the busiest of airports. I did return to the airport the following day and filmed some departures from 31L at the other official spotting hill so look out for that video to come.
