Though Dp Gachagua was having bargaining power of 7. Million votes he lacked the save guard of having his own party and it ended of Ruto to take advantage of that.
Ruto was already the Kingpin of Mt. Kenya, Gachagua brought nothing to Ruto. Uhuru campaigned with Ruto for two terms and won. So don't say that again because it never happened. With or without Gachagua Ruto would still have won. Gachagua coming in the picture is just his woes with Uuhuru that brought him to Ruto because he had corruption cases in court. But truth be told Ruto campaigned for himself and that is why he went countless times to Mt. Kenya. Just do a flash back, you will know what I'm saying as truth. Another thing is that, look at the Governors and their deputies, do you hear any deputy making noise anywhere? Your boss is your boss, you are supposed to support him or her in implementing the manifesto and if you differ, then you resign than making noise that they have betrayed you, how? Gachagua was extremely junior at the time of election, he no capacity to negotiate anything. He was literally elevated even by Ruto when everyone did not want him and preferred Kindiki. Ukikopesha mtu pesa make sure there is a written agreement and witnesses present when lending cash 🤝. Put everything in writing, signature from both individual as well as a deadline. Don't just rely on their mare words and promises. I participated in lending a friend my money but she had to sign the paperwork first. She felt insulted because I "don't trust her". David, our politicians know deep inside that they can't trust anybody. But they are easy to convince and trust other politicians. In politics - read Kenyan politics - trust is not a virtue. There was, allegedly an MOU between Kibaki and Raila that was never honoured. So even written agreements are not a surety of smooth running of coalitions of conveniences. Moi deputized Kenyatta for 12 good yrs without any hitches. He knew he served at the pleasure of the President and could be fired any time with cause or none at all, unlike now, when a deputy president feels like a co- president na anakuwa na kiburi mingi, because of running mate mess we put ourselves into. I agree, this thing of running mate is bringing problems into our Governance system. How come the Deputy Governors are not heard making noise anywhere, why the Presidency alone? What is this thing of entitlement from Deputy Presidents? We need to amend the Constitution because this thing is becoming a disease, at least let the VP be hired and fired at will like before.
Problem with your premise, Rigathi was always a member of UDA at its start. He was never approached as an outsider. Other parties were joining UDA which he was already a member of
If Ruto convinced Mlima Kenya members to vote on one party and they did that in good faith, indeed dishonouring that verbal agreement is not fair in the eyes of God. The constitution should not allow parties to merge after the election. Parties shud merge well before the election. Lastly, if all members of parliaments were truly faithful in themselves and allowing their mind to work independently, we would not be where we are. It's very moral for one to stand with the truth no matter the repercussions. It's so fulfilling and no self guilt whatsoever. I personally wud feel guilty if someone convinced me to do what I feel is not the right. Wish we all cud do what pleases God before pleasing our fellow human beings. The world we live in would be extremely good, full of love.

Unfortunately Kindiki has no party as well. He has to tow the Ruto line, otherwise Kindiki too can be cannon fodder at any moment. But you have forgotten the Raila Kibaki one term verbal deal that went sour and led to the 2007 blood bath. Kenyans have a very short memory indeed!
RiggyG's biggest mistake is trusting Ruto. He has been used and dumped. I hope other people and parties will learn from this mistake and take the necessary measures to safeguard their interests.

my advice to him would be simple; fight tomorrow in a way you remain valid for candidature in 2027; court to nullify the impeachment; then form a political party to bring mt.kenya under your party, partner with Kalonzo and deputise him in 2027; the same pot used to boil Gachagua is the same to boil Kindiki aka Jacqueline, He will remain a caretaker DP till 2027, you remain the legitimate DP till 2027, pray for that

Musalia,Kingi,M.Kuria and other small parties have been swallowed by Ruto's UDA. All these Mp's & Senators are now being treated like school children by their boss Ruto. 😢
