Hey man, just asking out of curiosity, how come you decide how songs sit together based on the volume slider? I personally use the mid and high eq for it and I feel like theres a tad more control that way. Is this by choice or just out of habit? Anyways, love the track selection! Take care man

Thanks for your support. I don't quite understand what you're saying... Decide how songs sit together based on the volume ? About eq'ing, Eq'ing is like an upside down pyramid. few lower frequencies and you can have a lot of high frequencies. When I switch them up a bit, it's just personal preference if maybe the mix starts sounding too muddy or too clangy if there are too many high's or lows. I don't often manipulate the mids, as those always sit together fine.

Thanks man! I appreciate the support. Beatport is my main one, but I also use others like Juno and just simply buying straight from the record label's online store. Many DJ's also use Itunes.

Awesome mix! Just wondering do you use pre-set cues (e.g. at 16 bars prior drop) for the double drops? Or do you just know how far out each track is? Just wondering how you double drop so easy :)

Thanks man! Yes, I pre set the hotcues. Sometimes 16 bars before the drop, sometimes 8 bars before the drop.

This depends from person to person how fast you grow, a lot of factors play a role there. The best way to learn is by getting a basic dj controller and looking up a lot of dj stuff online. Most importantly, you have to enjoy doing it and learning ;)

Big mix dude, the style of mixing that got me into DJing & deffo a lot of tracks played that got me to love dnb years ago. Big ups on this man. Question for you how are your tracks all such good quality & none of them clipping over each other, whilst also having your master fairly low? Are you using software to proccess your tracks first or?

Thanks a lot man :) My master on the controller is not an indication of the master output that records my final mix. I record the mix with all tracks their max loudness between last green light and first orange light. That's not a very loud output that way so I add more volume on record output in Rekordbox. Besides that, there's also a function in Rekordbox that analyses the full mix immediately when I stop recording. That function optimises the volume troughout the whole mix. I hope I helped you out :)

@@micrddrgn I made a construction with some old knex toys. It's like a bridge and the dj controller is the canal below it. I place my phone on top of the "bridge" and face it down horizontally. That's how I record it :)

Thanks a lot man! If you already have a dj controller, I suggest immediatly jumping up to the ddj 1000. The ddj 400 was only a quick budget option for me to start playing live with rekordbox and all the pioneer stuff.

The full setlist was prepared before recording it. I don't mind :p, I don't have any rights to my the music by the way. Good luck on your first gig! My first drum & bass gig is next week

Is it so you are constantly mixing in and out of loops?

No. Because this setlist was prepared, I didn't have to search for the tracks. That gave me extra time to beatmatch a tune before mixing it in, that's why I often used loops before mixing it in.
