In 1987, the GDR magazine "Prisma" examines customer service in Mitropa restaurants. Cleanliness, customer friendliness and the food on offer in railway station restaurants in Halle, Bitterfeld and Dessau are examined. In some Mitropa restaurants, service and hygiene are impeccable. In others, there is rubbish on the floor, food is missing or looks unappetising. There are also no price boards or restaurants are often closed. In Bitterfeld, the rooms even need to be renovated to better take care of the guests and travellers.
