Great trick with the screwdriver on the balance shaft. I just had a balancer shaft break on me so will be doing a full TB replacement. I’ve seen the oil pump/balancer pulley lined up differently on a few other videos. From what they described the oil pump has 3 to 1 ratio gears and it needs to be lined up as well. With the timing marks lined up If you turn it slightly it should return back to the TM. If it doesn’t it’s in the wrong spot. That said, I’m not sure if the oil pump to be in a specific position. And the 4g64 was from a 90’s Express van. Going to try both methods tomorrow and will edit the post. 👍
