Mitsubishi EVO X / Ralliart SST Rattle Fix 

The rattle is fairly common to the SST Evos. Sounds like it’s coming from the engine though, but it is usually nothing to worry about. Thanks for the lesson!

Hello. I see that you have enormous knowledge about the sst gearbox. I have such gearboxes and I have a problem. When I flip the shift levers to P mode, the car rolls. Is this normal or has there been any damage?

No idea if you all still pay attention to these comments, I have a sound just like this has been described, but it doesn't go away completely when moving

Brett/MRT knows these things backwards...Sadly they just dont answer comments/Questions on here ive noticed...hopefully thats not a reflection of their after sales service, and unfortunately they arent in my state...otherwise they would be servicing my RA

Thanks Brett for identifying the culprit. What are the usual causes for the spline drive to have more than normal tolerance and inside the damper to have broken springs? Is one of them revving the engine in neutral and putting it in drive? Future X MR buyer here :) Thanks in advance!

I hate that rattle noise ! Sometimes i feel like it gets louder and its embarrassing to be at a red light at times.

Jacks transmissions in Colorado quoted me to rebuild the damper when I sent mine in for a 600whp upgrade. With seeing it explained and prioritized by so many I'm rebuilding mine and mine isn't even bad. Would be a shame for my track build to have issues after I just spent so much money.

My RA is going in under warranty...Mitsu says the rattle is a faulty Flywheel...is this a common problem for the Rattle??...its had the rattle from new in 2010 (noticed it at about 5000kms) it now only has 30'000 kms...i just want the rattle fixed under warranty as it runs out in Sept.

My 2009 ralliart make the same sound and run perfectly. But i dont fully understand is normal or not? And it make any damage to the car

Hi Brett, +MRT Performance, Thanks for the video. I have Ralliart 2010 and have that noise on Neutral or Parking. As @Evo Dan mentioned, i hope and heard that basically it's not an issue apart from the noise, is it correct, could it bring further damages to the Transmission? I think mine is coming from the Clutch Demph Assembly, as it is sounds exactly the same as when you shacked it. Could that be repaired? I'm from Europe! Thanks.

I need u to fix my ralliart transmission LOL. It jumps from 2nd,4th and 6th gears then i turn off the car and turn it on then it runs fine. I scand it and the code said shift fork 1 malfunction. Now it still runs great but sometimes jumps odd gears. Whats wrong?

Hi Brett, so when you mention the later models of the EVO X and Ralliarts had superseded the input spline. Do you know which year specific models? Does the 2015 models suffer from ANY of these issues?
