I have always liked Mitsubishi F-2 and after I saw 2016 digi camo it was the one that I wanted to make as a model. After Fine Molds released their F-2A model I knew what model I wanted and I found Double Xcellent Model decals for it I was ready for build one.
This model was the best engineered kit that I have ever built. There seems to be so many clever decisions that helps building or alignment and painting. The sprue gates are in such places that it is the most pleasant to have them and there are not big or too many of them. Parts are placed in the sprues so that they can be painted on the sprue. The part division so that everything goes along natural panel lines and the fit tis perfect to accompany this. Kit decals that I used are good and conforms well too.
Aftermarket decals are very well printed by Cartograph, but the numbering is just mindboggling: There is no sense in the numbering either in instructions or on the decal sheet, they just go without any logic and makes the stencil decaling horrible experience. The digital camo decals are easy to find and their numbers are with other color than the rest. Although their numbers doesn't seem to have any more sense than stencil decals.
However I would gladly build another Finemolds F-2A, but perhaps not with these decals.

Thanks for showing your Fantastic build. It looks great👍and that is from a modeler who is no fan of digital camouflage😄 I also have the kit, and can only agree that detail and engineering is Top Class in 1/72 My favorite Finemold kit must be the Phantom. They make some Fine kits, no pun intended😀 Happy modeling

Is this a good kit for a beginner?

In my opinion it is good for beginner as it goes together very nicely. And if something doesn't fit it you are doing something wrong. I think you should make the subject you like rather than any particular kit, but for F-2 this should be your choise.
