With models like the ASX on offer, some people fail to see the true potential of Mitsubishi's L200.
Although slapped with the label of a 'pick-up truck', the L200 is much more than that - with a refined interior that almost borders saloon standards.
The L200 can also tick all of the appropriate off-road boxes with a highly capable 4x4 system and a handy flat-bed rear.
We take the sporty Mitsubishi L200 out on the road in our latest review to see what it has to offer.

3:14 the car has leaf spring suspension in the back. Leaf spring suspension is common on utes because they are built to carry a heavy load in the back. The leaf suspension helps this because most other suspension wouldn’t be good at carrying such weight, and it might break. Most utes today you have an option between leaf spring and other on the rear.

I’m sorry to say, but this review was pretty awful. So much basic stuff you want to know about the L200 is missed off here (like the fact it’s the only pick-up you can drive in permanent 4WD), making it pretty useless for if you’re seriously considering buying one. And yes, as others have mentioned, the turning circle is very good for a truck. And did you actually test its off-road ability before coming to the conclusion it ‘can handle even the most challenging terrains with ease’? It’s like the review has been read off the press release. Oh, and the ‘cost-effectiveness’ on resale value is comparable with any other pick-up (aside from the Hilux). Mitsubishi is the 3rd highest-selling pick-up in the UK, so that’s a wrong point about them not being popular as a manufacturer. 🙄

30 mpg and you are complaining? Wow...

Funny mentioning the turning-circle, as CarBuyer praises it to be the smallest in its class! explain that...

Its got a weird shaped roof the L200, the way it just sort of dips down towards the flat bed. I like it though, makes it sort of a coupe pick-up truck...if that makes sense.

why do all these reviews compare pick ups to cars ? the reviewer expected better than 30 mpg with a vehicle that weighs around two tonnes with an auto box and fwd capability ? maybe a career change is in order .. .

Haha yeh I know what you mean, the L200 looks great. That slanted roof is what gives it the SUV flare.
