A How to tutorial on how to use your Mitsubishi Mini Split Remote Control. With so many buttons and so many modes, I'll teach you how to get the most out of your mini split system sound by Bensound.com
Had these installed in 3 bedrooms on a second floor of a colonial built in 1968. Before the installations these rooms required electric area heaters in winter and were insufferable in summer heat. These units have transformed this house such that second floor remains same temp year round . The installer gave me the rapid instruction of the remote so they could exit the job and go home lol, but your video has cleared it up for me. Thanks for taking the time to create your instructional, it is very helpful so I saved it on PC lol.
I just bought a house on Cape Cod with 3 of these units. I’m a software engineer and had no clue what this unit could do! 😂 Thanks J-Mart for making it understandable!
I moved in with a relative who has these units. The Air Conditioning automatically goes on even though I have the temperature set to 72 or above. Then later the heat goes on and the room gets very hot. The room is never the ideal temperature because the machine is constantly changing itself. I'm pretty good with gadgets but this remote is confusing...the manual is even more confusing. I'm so happy I found this Mitsubishi Mini Split AC Remote Control Tutorial. The information is helpful, straightforward and easy-to-understand. I have my fingers crossed that I'm on my way to controlling this Mini-Split. Thank you so very much for the information!
It should not switch from heat to cool without doing so purposely. There are alternatives to the Mitsubishi remote that will make it easier to use also
@@J-Mart I struggle with this remote even though I've spent hours trying to fix the problem, including watching your excellent videos. I have no idea why the unit switches on the air conditioning when I have the heater turned on. When I turn the temp up when the AC goes on, the room gets so hot I can hardly sleep. The room is very small. I live in a Tiny House. Still, the thermostat should work correctly like the more than 20 other homes I've lived it.
Actually i really think I’m liking that wall unit more and more it’s sounds very far more technological advanced over my tradition hvac system!! I may change my mind soon as i check more into this! Btw great video very well thought out and informative great job!!! I learned alot about it!
They are more advanced than traditional systems but also more expensive and not worth the added expense if your house has a system with ductwork already, also it may negatively affect the value of your house as some people don’t like the look of these units on their walls
Thanks, we bought a townhouse with 2 of these units. You answered quite a few questions the manual does not explain, like the i-see mode, where's the thermostat, and smart set. The downstairs would get into the 50s at night, now we know.
Informative video, thank you. Do you know if there is any way on the remote or on the unit to see the actual current temperature in the room - not the desired temperature, the current temperature?
The fact that none of Mitsubishi's remotes include a basic light to read the display at night is bonkers. Keep these units out of your bedrooms unless you want to wake your spouse every time you turn on the bedroom light to adjust the air conditioner.
Yeah I use a ceiling fan to control the temperature when I get hot which is easy with a remote with only a couple buttons. A back lit remote would be ideal!
You didn't mention how to use the temp up/down buttons. Do I need to point the remote at the wall unit to register a temp change, or will it work if not aimed at the wall unit?
we have smoky skies in California and someone said to set the home a/c to 'recirculate' as we do in our cars. Is there a setting like this? (I have a slightly different, less detailed controller)
I am changing the heating system in my property from electric base board (with no present air conditioning in summer). My electric bill in winter is about $1,000 a month, in summer months it is about $100.00 a month. Wondering if installing ductless units, if it is worth the money and comfort in summer. This remote seems a bit too complicated (I like simple things - old school) . Appreciate the advice...I am in Toronto Canada.
I think the summer time weather is where these units excel. The remotes are complicated but you can set it and forget it too. My buddy’s cooling bill for the entire summer was $70 for July through September, so it’s cheap to run.
If it's really hot or cold outside make sure you use Auto Fan mode or turn the Fan all the way up. Having the fan on low or medium will limit the systems heating or cooling capacity. It's usually best to set a temperature and leave it alone. If you leave the house I would only turn it up or down a few degrees not off. It's more efficient to maintain a set temperature in your house than cranking it up and down all the time.
@@J-Mart Thanks, I design and sell heating systems in Washington state. I love the Mitsubishi ductless systems and we install a lot of them. I enjoy your videos, thank you for posting them.
Time for an update on the electric usage/bill. I'm about to install 3 Hyper Heat units in the house in building on seacoast NH. I am curious how much you've been spending, and how you like them?
Definitely doing a double electric bill update this weekend! I have been waiting for weeks for the electric bill to arrive and found it buried away in my wife’s pile.
Play around with it. The thermostat isn't accurate so there is no correct answer. If you want exactly 68 get a seperate room Thermometer start at 68 on the remote and keep working your way down one degree at a time.
If you put the fan on automatic mode, what exactly does that mean? Does it adjust the temperature to what degree I want and automatically go to that and keep it that way? Say I put the fan at 70 and set it to automatic--does that mean that the unit will adjust the room temperature to 70 and keep it that way?
@@BenDMitchell As far as I know ) I have 4 ) you cannot affect the temp in fan only mode .Its no diff than turning a ceiling fan on .It just works as a ordinary fan.
How can i shut off the motion sensor on the bottom of the inverter that slowly turns back and forth. hate it. makes just enough noise to be so annoying when trying to sleep.
@@Scott-cu4ol Thank you, Scott! I have been battling that thing for a while and just fixed it. I had to hit "sensor" twice. When I hit it the first time it gave me a home symbol, like a side view of a house. Not sure what that was but the sensor icon was still on. When I hit the "sensor" button twice it turned off both the sensor and the home icons. I had 7 mini-splits (6 new mitusbishi and 1 old Amana) on my last house and 1 on my current home and have been battling them for 4 years now. For some reason the summer/winter change overs (on 6 of the 7 I had at my last house, the Amana was old and did not have the problem) have been the most irritating aspect. Once they are in heat mode they do not want to change into cool mode and vice versa. My HVAC installation team came back and had the same problem for nearly half an hour.
@@J-Mart Thanks for your answer. When I press it, how do I change the numbers. right now it is flashing 'Mon Clock 0:00. I want to change the time to 18:50. What do i press to do that? Thanks!!
@@J-Mart Still can't set the clock. I press the clock button, the seconds blink on and off and I can go up and down but I can't move over to the hour to set that?
