Formely VH-VBL in Australia, this one used to visit my local airport Wynyard, Tasmania about twice a year. She was always one of my favourite visitors, it was sold about a year ago.
@@nixaviation yep back to where she came from over 20 years ago, interestingly it took on its previous registration aswell. Unfortunately we have no more active mu2s in Australia since it left, was always a rocket when it took off.
Poor Safety Record and some bad flying characteristics like its tendency to flip over on its back at low speed low alt if full power is suddenly applied (like for a go around or windsheer escape)
@@tbas8741. Yes it had a poor safety record with poorly trained pilots. The price of them kept going down with every incident or accident. You could buy one cheaper than a Navajo. It has a very high wing loading and needs to be flown by the numbers. After the FAA mandate , the safety record has improved considerably. But I’ve never heard of one flipping over on its back on a go around. And I did fly MU2s for 9 years and almost 4000 hours. It’s a very well made plane.
