You can use data register to set the value of the timer externally either from hmi or thumbwheel switches. then use the MOV instuction to transfer the current timer value to data register. Use battery backed data register (D512 to D7999) so that the value is retained even if the power is turned off. You can use also retentive timers (T250 to T255) so that the timer does not reset even when the power is turned off. ex: ---I I------------------------[MOV T250 D512]
