replacing minor pieces by rooks is not such an advantage because of the lack of versatility of your pieces; maybe replacing one or both bishops with queens would give you a better chance.

I feel like these board changes aren't actually giving you an advantage. Like, taking away all the pawns makes things way less structured, and taking away bishops and knights takes away all dynamics. What about a simple change that makes sense like changing the bishops to queens?

Kudos to you for taking on such a force. Playing chess against bots is truly a nightmare of some form, understanding how perfect their moves are, but not able to achieve the depth or counter they effortlessly do; but by all means build skynet, what's the worst that can happen??

LOL! This has to be maybe the funniest Mittens video I have ever seen in my life. So, I was using Stockfish to analyze these games, especially with the extra material you gave yourself. Turns out you did not do yourself much of a favor with the 2 extra rooks because it was only +2.5 then you did not do yourself any more of a favor with the 4 extra rooks because it was only +3 Now the one that REALLY mattered was replacing the four pawns with knights. This gave a COMMANDING advantage of +9 and yet despite two hard fought battles, you blunder away the advantage in the first 6 knights game to a draw (yet not a loss) and the 2nd one is sadly the most tragic yet simultaneously deserved with a stalemate. :( The final game is the most prime lesson of why you NEVER mess around in a chess game. You end it the first opportunity you get, ESPECIALLY vs bots and *especially* vs something that is estimated to be >=3200 As for if I can beat Mittens with 4 extra knights over the pawns and a +9 advantage? No shot, I couldn't even beat the 3200 Komodo with QUEEN odds on my own (needed 2 hints, but I got the rest myself) So Mittens with... special odds is probably not happening considering even Nelsi, a national master I believe had this much trouble. 😢

This is my favorite video by you. I have watched many of your videos. I felt like instead of the knights in the middle exchange the two pawns on the edge with the knights. Because you want to control the middle. Pawns do that. I guess. Plus you moved to quickly. For him it was ordinary position start but for you everything is different. You beat yourself I think. My advice to Nelson is to get rid of your pawns and clear a way through then you have an advantage

First time mittens came out I like many saw the 1 and got drawn in. I got destroyed in 10 moves. My one and ONLY time I’ll play that feline bot!

If you'd push the pawns on the kingside in front of your rooks, and take his pawns to open files for your rooks, you'd have a much better chance of winning, IMHO!!

I played like 100 games against mittens and i drawn 1 game, it was a closed position and we repeated moves. I’m only 1700 elo

You're supposed to do the plow, or the reverse plow with extra rooks.

Mittens is just a nightmare to play against. It's basically really just stockfish which maybe does one inaccuracy. For the intermediate players I'd suggest you're better off playing against grandpa and isla. They're still pretty strong and tricky. You can get a good position out of the opening sometimes and you have to ride that advantage to win.

I always say the Knight is the worst piece to try to get Checkmate with. They are so complicated.

Why did you promote to a queen in the last game

Let me opine on this one, if I may. When playing bots, it's REALLY hard not to (subconsciously) want to play fast, specially for someone who's good at blitz. If you see an opponent moving fast, your mind goes "we need to play faster!". It's incredible the difference that this knowledge alone had on my performance vs bots, and this might be true to other people as well. Maybe simply talking more and explaining more and treating each move as if the opponent took like 10 seconds to play should suffice for you to win with those extra knights or even rooks.

When half your pieces are rooks, I think you could be more reckless with them. Normally you wouldn't trade a rook for a knight, but if you have 6 of them? I think it makes sense. Rooks are weak on a full board, so most trades are worth it, not only because it's easier to keep track of fewer pieces, but also because it clears up the board, making those rooks more powerful?

Hi there Nelson, I think it would be easier to beat the game with 6 bishops instead of 6 knights, since 3 light square bishops and 3 dark square bishops are much more powerful. Good luck!

Rooks are pretty bad as early game pieces. IMO with one bishop being replaced by extra queen he would be able to win with that +6.
