I was so amazed by the simplicity that I made this for my families Sunday dinner. I started on Monday.

This 10 minute recipe reminds me of the time it only took 30 mins to get from Portland, Maine to Portland, Oregon. I drove for 15 mins to the Airport in Maine, and then 15 mins from the Oregon airport to a friends house. It's amazing, only a 30 minute drive from one Portland to the other.

Let’s refresh our grade school time line. Ten minute prep + 50 minute +cook time + 2-3 hour cooling time is greater than 10 minute desert, gotcha Quick Simple and Delicious 👍🏼

For those of you into basics. 1) The water bath is to keep the eggs from burning. 2) The beaten egg is just to suspend the bananas. You could probably use any puree'd fruit (or even vegetables). 3) Sugar is just to sweeten to your liking. 4) The heat will solidify the eggs, holding the bananas in suspension and the water takes a long time to heat, cooking the egg uniformly and preventing the bottom from burning. With these principles, now go create your own dish!

I didn't know flan was this easy to make. Now I have something quick and easy to teach my each my 10 yr old grandson. I hadn't taught him anything to cook yet because I'm battling congestive heart failure and stage 4 kidney failure. I wanted to leave a lasting cooking memory of me.🙏🏿this one I think we can accomplish.🌺

With more than just 2 bananas and 2 eggs, and after cooking and refrigerating, this recipe can actually take several hours to complete from start to finish... delicious it may be, but quick and simple it may be not. 👌

Tried this yesterday. Not bad, though i recommend brown sugar in the flan, also add vanilla extract and cinammon. Very strong banana flavor but hey, what else did you expect.

I have the goat of all coconut cream pie recipes I've perfected it over 30+ attempts lol I've had 2 older ladies that sell pies for a living tell its the best they've ever tasted and i was sbocked but here's the recipe Pie Filling 3 cups regilar half n half 3/4 cup of granulated sugar 1/4 teaspoon salt 1/3 cup corn starch (add while everything's still cold) 2 whole eggs (whites yolks included) Cook filling on medium to low heat Pie crust (I buy the roll out pie crust at your local grocery store) use pie weights or a fork and poke holes along the sides and all over the bottom so crust doesnt expand amd bubble then bake for 12 mins or until golden brown 1 more tip after the filling gets creamier add 1 tbs vanilla and 1 cup toasted coconut flakes or almond extract i think almond tastes better in ccp but the most important part with the filling is that its at the consistency of pudding like the best way I can say it is mic constantly until the consistency of pudding it should be creamy and runny if that makes sense it also hardens after you pout it in your filling Also I make homemade whipped cream 1 cup heavy whipping cream 2 tbs powdered sugar 1 tbs almond or vanilla extract beat on medium high if you don't have a whisk attachment it's fine but it'll look chunky like cottage cheese when it's done get all the way around the bowl or some will be runny Good luck whoever tries this you'll thank me later

Basically this is caramel pudding with bananas added....a healthy fusion

To the people in the comment section who thinks "waiting for something to refrigerate for 2 hours" is "2 hours of work": Buy some snacks at the store. Perhaps a chocolate bar or a bag of crisps. That way, whenever you want a quick snack, you can just go to your kitchen and get that which your heart desires.

That looks so yummy! I love bananas and love flan, perfection. I usually blend things in a tall, wide jar, it is easier to move the wand up and down and there tends to be less chance of spills.

my protein shake is literally the raw batter 😂. sub sugar for honey, and add some chia seeds & avocado oil. Blend. It's actually pretty good Just for anybody complaining this is actually a 4 hour recipe. not a 10 minute one. Blender will fix that 👍

I've never thought of mixing water with the sugar for the caramel top. I've always just put the sugar in the pot and melt it down. I'll have to try that the next time I make some flan. Cool video and love the recipe. Bananas are great.

As a kid, I used to mix a raw egg yolk with sugar, and eat it, I called it a “Yum Yum Egg”, not sure if an Italian or Irish thing, as my parents were both immigrants, Dad Italy, Mom Irish, both extremely poor as children, during the 1920s and 1930s. Probably Uovo Sbattuto aka Beaten Egg in Italian. Originating from farmers, as my dad’s parents were lemon farmers in Tramonti, Italy and poor as poor comes, this made for a quick, and cheap breakfast.

make this in muffin tins. then when well chilled pour in some melted semi sweet chocolate on top to about 1/4 inch. Re-chill till the chocolate its firm, then warm the muffin tin in warm water and invert to create a chocolate base.. Or add some pulverized gram cracker to the chocolate for a more intense and different flavor before pouring into the tin molds. or layer it, the crumbs in the bottom before pouring in the chocolate.

It looks good but it sucksss, I just made it. Not this content creators fault, but it is not good. I might be just hating on bananas but the smell changes for the worst and the flavor is very mild which is not a bad thing in this situation. Over all, i give this recipe a 3/10 only because it has the appearance of flan (does not taste anything like flan BTW) good job on the video and the editing. Keep those good recipes coming

I think you forgot to add a few things up in your ten minutes, getting the ingredients together, getting out the various measuring things, measuring out things, and a huge one, cleaning the 3 measuring cups, the hand blender, the screen, the bowl and baking dish, the boiling pot and lid, and not to mention the 3 hour cooking cooling refrigerate , first the setup time, the mixing time, heating the water, the 50 minutes soak, the cooling off time, and we toss in a couple more hours for the fridge time. Instant Jello or pudding are about the only 2 ten minute desserts I can think of.

"Anyone want some of my homemade flan?" "nope."
