To add, you can also use FL Maximus for multi band compression and limiting. Saturation can also do wonders for the perceived loudness

Finally, someone knows what gain staging is. Many tutorials I watched don't know the difference between the pre-gain and the volume faders. And that's affect the quality of the sound. But should adjust the volume of your sounds from the pre-gain knob in channel rack first so they are not clipping (usually all your sounds should sit under -6db so the sounds will be healthy). Then put the effects you want, and finally level your sounds again but this time from the faders. (cause the effects affect the volume of the sound).

hello bro I am very confused, whenever I do a mix in fl my beat sounds good and loud, but when I upload to youtube it is quiet and different in mix from the beats of other creators. I'm an old guy , trying to do music for a karate team, and I'm trying to explain I'm not an engineer, I fixed all the mud now it sounds like it's in a closet. when I did music 25 years ago we hired a wizard to master, I dont mean he was really good , I mean a gypsy with a long white beard would show up at the studio out of the shadows with a box with wires and tubes that looked like a giant nixie clock.
