I am in A W E! I never dreamed of building up a page with as many mediums as you used. I LOVE IT!!! I'm going to do this on a canvas since I've done a few napkins that way. NOW I'm going to BUILD BUILD BUILD it up. Thanks for this fantastic video.
This may sound stupid, but I like how you used your fingers to apply the thickened gesso through the stencil, which creates a thinner texture. Copying the large focal image to cut & use as a mask is a brilliant idea! I have a hard time creating a page from start to finish in one session, so watching your process is interesting. Great tip about thinning out the black paint to use with the thin brush.
I love using my fingers to apply the thick gesso....it even works to push acrylic paint through stencil..you get a different look...which I like.Create how it works for you...if doing a page takes 3 sessions ...do it....K
First time viewer also new to mixed media. I loved watching your video... so much to learn. Looking forward to following you to learn more techniques. Thanks
I have never used rice paper glue ( only just saw it recently) . Now it may work better, but for my purposes Liquitex fluid matte medium or gel medium do the trick perfectly. I don't like to have multiple products that basically do the same thing. K
