I loved watching the process for the leaves and paper making. The black outline definitely worked much better for the "stained glass". I didn't see Wonder Woman at all... maybe the crown? Adding an extra colour to her black hair was perfect. I thought she looked wonderful in the end.
SO DANG GOOD!!! I love it!! 💛💙🤎 Love the colors, added curls, Gma coming through to remind you of sewing patterns- genius! And, I didn’t know they made watercolor canvases. I thought only watercolor paper was available! I learn something every time! 😉
Hello from Canada Lydia Amazing mixed media. They just put up a new tower near my cottage! Lydia video at the cottage YAHOO. Thank you for sharing your talent.
“ nothing is more rewarding than painting, a good nostril”… words to live by! I love love, love this painting! It is so beautiful, and I like the art, nouveau feel to it, it’s freaking gorgeous! I can’t believe how much you’ve learned, and how much you share❤
Definitely gorgeous……..love the colours, and your tutorial on making the collage papers. Have enjoyed and loved watching everything you create ………….you are Such a great talent. 👏🏼👏🏼🥰🥰
Stunning Lydia, really loving this series. This one of Artemis I particularly enjoyed 👌🏻🎨. Have had a fascination with all the cultures gods since varsity days... First time I 've actually seen the jelly plate process, definitely want to try it. I have been using watercolour a lot lately for studies. Bought watercolour ground to apply to canvass or wood cradles, let the explorations begin 🎨.
I enjoyed watching your video Lydia!!! I would like to watch the first one you mentioned - can you provide a link please? You said this is a "continuation of my last video"..... I've looked for it and don't see it! I love Art Nouveau!!! I really enjoyed seeing how you made your collage papers! I've been watching some of your videos for a few days now and you are really fun and funny!
Oh, my, effing, Goddess! I just knew this was going to be awesome when I saw the sketch video, so many of my favourite things in this painting, goddesses, art nouveau, stained glass and gold leaf ❤🖤💚💙💛🖤❤️
OMG, this is beyond beautiful, wow, wow and just WOW! I love the collage papers colors and the wonderful contrast of all the colors used in the portrait, the collage colors, the gold leaf and then that beautiful blue to enhance the whole painting. I just got my Gelli plate and my Open Golden Acrylics today. Still waiting for the rest of my supplies. I feel as excited as a child in Christmas waiting for Santa Claus! So much to learn, so much I want to do. I know, I know, one step at a time. I just want to paint like you when I grow up! LOL
Beautiful! Dramatic! Everything is perfect. I see you do it, but can’t understand how you do it. How do all the layers, dabs and swirls coalesce to become the goddess? It’s the mystery of artistic creativity. It’s the mystery in you.
A great nostril is always the highlight of any portrait, especially a deco nostril, and you excel that them! Love this piece. I really enjoy seeing your process. It makes me appreciate the painting even more. When you finish your goddess series, would you please show them all to us? Makes me happy just thinking of the prospect.
Hey Sunshine! Artemis is beautiful! I love how you used the gel plate to make the "stained glass" look. You said that the leaves acted like a stencil - and I'm wondering whether that should really be acted like a "mask." I totally get confused between "mask" and "stencil". Whatever the term is in this case, this turned out just lovely! I just loved the "there is nothing better than painting in a nostril." You are nuts, and that's why I love you. LOL. Lots to take in in this video! I sure wish I could do such gorgeous paintings. Now I want to try Golden Open Acrylics for skin tones, and a metal adhesive pen by Speedball. Will there ever be an end to the art supplies I need??? Have a lovely week!
Thank you Janina! I had never seen a metal adhesive pen before... I was so excited! Makes it so much easier. I think you're right about the mask vs stencil.❤
RU-vid is weird. I get notifications sometimes for channels I'm not subscribed to, bit not the ones I am. So cool that you're working with art nouveau!❤
I love Trekell and Princeton synthetic brushes for oils. The detail brushes are Master's Touch from Hobby Lobby as are a lot of my acrylic brushes. Thank you!❤
@@lydiabroderick867 thank you so much! You are a huge inspiration for me and many others. Also, I wasn’t fond to collages, yet you help me get to try since they’re so popular. I wonder what makes someone be creative with this technique, what’s behind it. The only collage I made was in fashion design collage because it was mandatory and it went straight to trash after I finished the program. I thank you again answering this fast, early bird you ( and me lol)
