@@BayardoRugama oh hey, since I got your attention, when are you making the setup review? I’m waiting to see what you have to say after trashing my logo🙂
I work for Pioneer DJ and I can tell you that this conspiracy theory is completely false with no evidence behind it. The reason it’s called the S7 is because our Serato battle mixers have always followed odd number models. Look at all the S model DJMs. S3, S7, S9, and S11. All ODD numbers. The tradition is carried from the DJM-707 and DJM-909 which also sustained odd numbers.
The screen enables a LOT of features. My favorite being the control for decks 3 & 4, needle search, nudging, and just being able to keep your eyes on the mixer instead of having Serato face.
Hey barr! Great vid! Quite impressed what pioneer have done here. I know this is a bit farfetched but could you please consider doing a video on how you mix at weddings and various events and song selection as a guide. I would be so greatly appreciative! Hope it could help others out as well! Thank you
Oh man, my S9 is just over a year old. I would have gone with the new Rane mixers if I had waited a few months (I love Rane gear). As far as the S7, it's got all the upgrades I'd want. I never use the mic much if ever on my S9. I play w/ serato + vinyl so upgraded preamps sounds good to me. MIDI features would be fun too. I wonder how the built-in effects are? I found most of the S9's built-ins to be kinda wonky (backspin, vinyl break and noise are meh). I prefer the missing built-ins from the DJM-2000. The bluetooth would be useful for non gigging situations like if we were just chillin' after hours and nobody felt like mixing, or in some weird out of commission laptop emergency. I'd jump all over this if I hadn't burned through my savings paying rent during lockdown since I've been unemployed since March. Damn you covid...
I’m wondering if the s7 would be able to pair Bluetooth headphones to the Bluetooth? I’m waiting for something more simpler for headphones because we need to get rid of that wire. Good video though.
Are you able to go into settings with the S7 mixer, and adjust the cut in points with the cross fader, so that the sound is instantaneous as soon as you move the fader??
Are you saying that you are using w rekordbox? That’s what I’m trying to figure out as I use rekordbox and am considering the mixer however wonder how much I lose by not using serato
I don't know. I tried the S11. Sent it back for the Rane 70. It came down to build quality for me. Too much plastic on the pioneer for me. The S7 just doesn't wow me enough.
The s7 channel faders are soldered to the pcb board. Mine broke after 10 momths of use. Had to send in for repair. Smh, should of went with s11. All three faders can be replaced easier.
heckuva video.... Barr⚡️⚡️⚡️⚡️S10 would have made more Sense, even though Realistically is just a #REVAMP... taking it Back to S9!!!! 🤔😳, down sizing on Buttons & Catering To DJ’s Who probably not into ECHO... feature, 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽Round of Applause on your Reviewing Of Little -REMIXxED!!!!! Brother To the S9’ DJBARR... the Review.... MATADOR😊🤣
I like the S7 but I would of love it, if it comes with the wave forms screen, no screen on the S7, but wave form in the S11, WTF !!!! I like to see where the tracks are on the screen....also, the screen, adds a futuristic ergonomics feel to the mixer. The screen makes it a more beautiful state of the art mixer. In my opinion that S7 should of have come with the same screen on the S11. Period !!
Could they have named it s7 to leave room for a s9mk2? Yes RANE is giving Pioneer a run for their money but that Reloop Elite is also competitively priced.
I didn't like Reloop. I tried it out and both units I got were either defective or the crossfaders were just not calibrated right. There was always something wrong with the upfaders or the crossfader. So I sent em back. I want a 70 and maybe the RANE One.
This isn't for output, it's just an input for playing from your mobile so you don't need an AUX cable. Lots of DJs like to scratch with a looper app, so this makes it easy to connect.
From what I read In the comments from another review, theres no independent sample fx on the s7. You would have to assign the samples to a channel to trigger the fx which kinda sucks. Lbs, the microphone echo I can do without, but I like the independent sample echo fx on the s9 that's missing on the s7.
@@DjTecniq according to Crossfader's review ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-UsyZoVxZzVg.html the S7 sounds really good but not as good as the S11
The reason they cut $100 off is when you’ve been building something for so long you have efficiency in manufacturing. component Costs also come down. I don’t think that pioneer is going to use lower quality faders because this is still a battle mixer and you’re still paying a premium for that level mixer.
no its a downgrade ill tell you why. For the 100. less you lose sampler fx and aux fx you get worse upfaders. they changed the fx setup. Who cares about the performance pad modes when ive had that since day 1 including the split pads.. where do you think they got the idea from.. its from dj haveboard. The also made the autolooo buttons smaller and chnaged the whole cue system they also made the line switch a dip switch instead of a toggle.
@@fedscame As I mentioned on another video, this product being $100 less does not mean it's a lower quality product than the S9. There's a lot more in this because the technology is paid for and there is a larger gap between it and the S11.
