Was there a base glaze underneath the underglaze design?

Hi there! You can get the underglaze effects at cone 10 using our Velvet Underglazes; however, our Celadon glazes are designed to go to cone 5/6 so we can't guarantee that they can hold their color and stability at cone 10. If you'd like to use them at cone 10 with this particular technique, we recommend creating a test tile with the technique first prior to applying it to a piece. Hi there, we don't actually sell the Field Guides but hand them out to our customers and distributors as a free resource. Because of Covid we unfortunately did not have the bandwidth issues to create a 2021 Field Guide this year but are hoping to have one for 2022. You can request a copy of the 2020 Field Guide from your local distributor and if they don't have any on hand they can request them in their next order of AMACO products. We apply 3 even coats; however, if you are a heavy glazer, you can get away with 2 heavy coats.

This is on bisque ware. You can do the linear underglaze designs on greenware but this particular video showcases that design process on greenware.
