In this video we focus more on the concrete mix used here at Dramamask Evolution and looking for a consistency which isn't too firm and not too slushy either - a mix which keeps it's shape, but is also cooperative in being moved around the mold/mould.
The concrete recipe used in this video:
1 X Part cement.
2 X Parts sand.
2 X Parts aggregate.
PVA (UK) bonder/bonding agent.
Plasticiser/plasticizer.

Thanks for the info. I need to cast a window sill in situ so I can’t vibrate it so easily. Would tapping the mould do the trick? I also need to sculpt the top by hand, so how long do you think I need to leave the concrete before I can shape it?

Brilliant informative clip, thanks. What do you use to paint your finished product, if it were to go ouside? What type of paint and from where?

When you say aggregate what are you using exactly please? I've been making moulds at home using 3 parts sharpe sand and 1 part portland cement. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks

Aggregate would be gravel or whatever you are using as gravel (chips, stones, etc).

Hello. Where do you buy the moulds? I'm trying to find some online but coming up with nothing much.

I make my own molds/moulds. Seems most molds sold on places like Ebay don't have mother molds and I wouldn't buy a mold without a mother mold unless it was really small. :)

@@Clan501-Scotland Because you don't have anything to support the latex mold when the concrete is poured. You can use sand to support the mold, but I think is a bit hit and miss unless you have very small latex molds.

@@dramamask Ah OK its to stop bulging ect. I notice there's only really one American man manufacturing and selling fiberglass/latex moulds and he has massive waiting times. You are missing a trick!

I think people who sell just the latex molds on their own without the mother mold are just out to make a quick buck. Yes, seems to be a gap in the market there! :)
