Nice to see a sheet being put down on the pavement! Half the builders I see around here do their work and leave the pavement/road strewn with mortar, sand and cemend.

If the tops are thick Stu , I've put a couple of small rawl plugs n screws in underneath to grip inside the mortar as mine came loose a couple of times , now Ashford and Simpson, solid as a rock!!

Get the stix all on them and just joint them with the cement only if nice flat surface going down on. KC had a good action going with the hose mixing and add water at the same time lol 😂 👍🏻👍🏻

Wet the top of the bricks and underside of coping to improve adhesion? Maybe even use old school bonding agent?

Hi mate, I want to lay some bricks in my garden straight onto soil. Will that work or will the mortar break up? Should I lay some flags as a bed to sit the brick on? Cheers Stu.

No you can’t lay on soil. It’s hard to advise without seeing the job
