Thanks for the feedback and welcome back into the MIX! If you run into any issues or have any questions along the way, please do let me know and maybe I can help out. I can churn videos out pretty quickly...I just need to know what you want to know! The door is always open on my discord, so feel free to stop by discord.gg/AZ3dxQh82m
Thank you for this video! I DJ’d a wedding this weekend and for some reason all of our tracks were 3:00 and some a little less than that. Any idea what happened?
Thank you for your video! my 1st one on Virtual DJ :). have to learn it fast ... used to DJ in iTunes at social dance events, now need to improve the skills. Struggling a bit with the concept of the virtual folder, is there a video about it?
Not a full video, but I do talk about them a little in this one. Basically, a virtual folder is the best way to organize your playlists in vdj. If you move a file using the vdj tool, it will update in the virtual folder as well. It doesn't do that for playlists. Also, you can have the same song in as many virtual folders as you want and also make sub folders. So for an event like a social dance, you can make a virtual folder for group dance songs, slow songs, and another for hype songs. Hope that helps!
so how can i download music that is copyrighted and dont mind buying the tracks. for example if i want to download a playlist of spotify how can i download them even if i have to buy and own the tracks
I have my playlist on youtube of a certain genre. I want to mix in around 50 songs. How to I get these songs to VDJ? would I have to export them from my youtube playlist? new to this. Many thanks
Yt music isn't integrated with vdj but tidal is. If you get a tidal account, you can transfer your playlists for free using tunemymusic.com from yt to tidal and then mix in vdj with those tracks.
This is amazing thank you! Wondering which videos of yours to watch next? Love the way you articulate and how you come across, very easy listening, keep it going!
Thank you so much for the kind words! Glad you found this video was helpful. There's definitely a bunch of other videos to choose from, but if you enjoy live streams, those are my favorite to do!
Om not trippin on blending songs. What i want to do is set it up to put a beat in and record my lyrics to record and make my own jams to save on a thumb drive or load on RU-vid
I can't thank you enough and now I forbid anyone from using Starter or even Essentials. The top Waveform view is larger and customizable with a slider and the smaller deck waveform view is bigger as well!
I recommend virtual folders, but if you want to make a playlist, there's two options 1. Right above the virtual folder us a playlist folder (or maybe below it). Click that then name it and drag songs into thtlat folder. 2. Drag songs into your automix side window browser, then when you're done adding songs, I think you right click and select add to playlist.
Hello i just watched this Vid and it was really helpfull as i am just starting to learn the basics. I undestand how the automox function works. But i want to play music from different genres by adding them manually. How do i mix the songs from deck 1 to deck 2. Do i have mix with it BPM or i can just use a smooth transition?
There is no right or wrong way! That's thr beauty of djing. You can blend, cut, drop, fade....really whatever you want. Test some different things out and....mix it up!
I have been hunting for a good tutorial after I just downloaded it, and tbis hit the target! Thank you very much and I look forward to learning from you 🙏🏾
So what do I do when I close virtual dj and open it back up it doesn’t let me play the music it says unable to open file check preferences privacy files and folder. Can you tell me how to fix that issue?
hi, yesterday I did my first karaoke show with vdj after using dex 3 for a year and a half, I watched your video several times and it was very instructive, helped me a lot. What I did experience and was difficult, but I think the fault lies with me, 1. after having introduced a few singers via workinglist and then list I saw that names of singers had changed, wrong numbers with wrong singers. 2. in the video when you press the karaoke song start the mix goes very smooth, and at the end the automix jumps back in, I have karaoke songs that sometimes have a silence and then you have to wait for the song to stop until we have sound from the automix again, not pleasant. 3. I work in a business with 16 TV screens, so I don't use mp3 in the automix but video files. so the crossfader really has to go from left to right, 4. every time I open vdj I have to put every list back in the search list. how do I solve all this and which points in the options should I adjust. can you help me with this please
You blended tracks but by no means were they synced or beat matched. There are Cue settings that can save you time under automation. Under Auto-Cue, there's (no), skip silence, first beat, cue, and cue/skip silence. The Crossfader is in my opinion the best way to mix songs because you can get the second deck cued or matched before you drag over the crossfader for seamless transitions. The gains are an alternative more traditional method of mixing but I prefer the crossfader to mix and the gains to then drop down the other track if you are expecting vocals to come in or an overlapping beat. Fading out each deck gives you more control of the overall output of each deck to cut overlapping before it happens. Crossfader = blending transitions, mixing, remixing, using stems, fading in and out, etc. The Gains are just there to drop out the entire track early if you have to.
Hahahahahaha! Well, if they already have music on their pc, then they do t have to watch about 45 seconds of thus video and can jump in at the point where I demonstrate how to import the music into virtual folders. You got to that point, right?
Thanks for the great feedback! As you get going on your journey of using VDJ, please do drop any of your questions here or in my discord and I will always try my best to help you with future comments and quick to the point video tutorials. 😀
Thanks man! I've only dabbled in KJ, but virtual dj can play it all if you have the karaoke files. If you don't have any files, I recommend looking at karafun.
@@DJLeFaveI really like your teaching style... I have purchased licensed files sometime back but have been looking for a program that does both ...I know there's a plugin for it but if I understand you correctly; VDJ will do KJ out of the box? Do you have a video training session on that?
My V-Dj software was just updated today and I have never had the "Fade out, Cut in (remove silence)" option. Did you have to customize your settings to get that option listed? Doesn't this software already sync match and have automatic cue point options preset to make it easier than manually setting cue points? I find it easier to work with the natural cue points of the song and use stems to cut vocals if they overlap.
I just checked on both the free and pro versions the remove silence option is there. You can also see this option in the settings > options menu. Simply type "fadeLength" and click on the drop down box. The options available there are: 1. Full Songs 2. Force Fade 3. Skip Silence 4. No Mix 5. Radio Sync matching is a great tool and is very user friendly. For this tutorial though, I thought I'd at least show how it can be done manually. You make a good point though, and it would have been very worth mentioning that option and showcasing it. The stems blend is both nifty and a crowd pleaser. I might have to consult with you on future productions for some great tips! Feel free to join my discord where these types of conversations can happen with tons of great details and ideas shared! discord.gg/aWXWcpSqNH Thanks again for the comment! Hope to see you on a future live stream where I basically answer any questions in real time ;)
You know what? I just rewatched this video and I see what you are talking about with the Cut In thing. Funny because I don't see that on my current version now anymore and I have no idea how to "recreate" that lol. Good catch! Maybe it was on one of the early releases but got ditched on a future one. Now I'm as intrigued as you were lol.
It looks like the Fade out, Cut in has to do with pre-defined cue points and can be accessed via the POI editor (which I don't think I did...but somehow it thought I did?). ...you learn something new every day.
@@DJLeFave Now I can't find that drop down box under fadeLength but these options go hand and hand with my other comment. Did they move it again? (Edit): It's now under Auto-Mix > automixMode
