I don't really get a chance to spin this type of music often, I mainly play HH/pop/Top 40, but I love checking your vids out for techniques and inspo.

I just got the s4 mk3, making a switch from the ddj 1000 srt, my first time to not be on pioneer gear and I gotta say, I feel lucky to have gone with the traktor over any nonstandalone unit out there. This mix is sick af and I learned a ton just from watching. Appreciate it.

Why dot you use the automatic beat matching function? Semms like a lot of spinning the wheel and ajusting the tempo of the tracks...

The funniest thing about this genre of music and most of its DJ's, they feel that every second behind their device they have to do something or look like they are doing something. Most of the time the knob-turning specialist will touch the same button over and over without a change or fraction of a change. Call it muscle memory or whatever, to me, it looks frantic.

Sincere question: How do you keep your traktor s4 mk3 dust free? Mine seems to accumulate dust over night!

I'm glad you have the "SYNC" off and actually beat matched the tracks. I did notice, however, the effect controllers (filter section) above the volume controller are on but 1, 2, 3, or 4 are not selected unless the numbers failed to light up. Also, your master output LED doesn't light up. Now I see the master is a little low so I will give you this one. Good use of the controller to twist and bend the music.

newbie question....but as all tunes played around 126bpm whats the advantage of 'manually' beat matching them over using sync set at 126??

Traktors audio seems lacking in the lower freq?

Because I mix dnb predominantly using the bpm slider usually takes far to long when I’m trying to go for things like doubles, switches or triples as I usually have my hotcues set 16 beats before the drop, I know how to beat match because with stuff like house and garage it’s not as quick. But dnb I struggle and have to use sync else I’ll miss the queen points. How do you change the bpm quicker than the bpm slider?

Kinda sucks that most clubs use pioneer, I think where traktor excels and what I have the most fun doing is experimenting with the effects and when you get a set that’s live it’s a whole different learning curve using the pioneer effects buttons

I notice problem with WAVEFORM speed if you use 2 tracks with different bpm for exemple 124 and 96 and u want to do transition without SYNC, WHILE 124 bpm TRACK is playing and is in the end of break and first kick is 8 bars far from center I use first kick of 96 BPM track and stick it on the FIRST BEAT after break of 124 BPM playing song that is 8 bars away and that two perfectli LINED UP kicks do not manage to go to the CENTER (REAL TIME PLAYING) at the same time. On VIRTUAL DJ and REKORDBOX if you lined up 2 kick in the distance before they go to the center they keep to bi in line all the way, but in TRAKTOR they DON'T. How we can conntact TRAKTOR to solve this?

Mixes are good but pre-ecorded & roughly demonstrating what you did. Example when you set loops and cancel & then loop again but the loop stops and the vocal sample keeps playing as 7:54. Watched it several times.

great top down view for many people to learn, your definitely on the money, much more so than me, but I'll just say that most of this is very subjective depending on your personal style of playing and even more so the music your playing. And while it's great to have a balls to he wall hi energy mix in places, you definitely need to slow it down from time to time to give people a breather, but once again, that's subjective.

i currently have the traktor s2 mk3 and am very comfortable with them, but im trying to progress in my career and most DJs tend to work with pioneer hard/software. Would you recommend making a switch if im trying to make a living from it in the future?

I don't get it. I thought the fx1 and fx2 knobs only work if the button below is active / on? He changed the position of the knobs at various parts of the video - while those are not active?
