I really like the Cosrx snail mucin but after I finished it I wanted to try something different so I bought the mix soon bean essence, I think it’s fine but I do prefer the Cosrx one more.
I think they work differently. I just realized most of us may not using the Bean Essence as intended. The instructions say to apply after toner and rub off residue then rinse or wipe off with damp cotton pad.
I prefer the bean essence. The Cosrx was tacky and itchy and didn’t do much for me. I’ve been using the bean essence for 6 months and I see and feel a big difference in the change. On my 2nd bottle now.
Some other products that have also been suggested as swaps for snail mucin are Vegreen nature mucin facial serum (wild yam), Innbeauty project elastic skin (wild yam, copper peptide/peptides, ceramides), NIOD modulating glucosides.
Happy Monday! Really enjoying your charming home and antique shopping! The old book store brought back fond memories of time with my Dad. He loved shopping for good used books.
Snail mucin makes me so itchy. I just started using the Mixsoon Bean Essence and I am loving it !! I use it for hydration, not as an “exfoliant.” I still use my tretinoin every night.
@@EmaAgafitei I am allergic to dust mites. I’ve been using tret for over a year & haven’t had any problems with it for the last 9 or so months. It’s definitely the allergy
I’m so surprised at how much I enjoy the CosRx snail mucin. I avoided it for a while as I thought it was just another trendy ingredient. I’ve been using it for about a year now and it’s become a staple in my skincare.
Hello! I bought it, when I visited Korea earlier this year. Still using snail mucin, and use the bean essence as an „rubbing solution“ to extract clogged pores on the nose, and under the lip. Comparable to the oil extracting, but with a „cleaner“ outcome for me. Since I have a dry skin, atopic dermatitis, and a crazy stubborn acne with 38, due to an artificial menopause😅 their are so many things going on on my face I tackle every area with a different approach. And try my best to stay away from harsh actives. Since my dermatologist prescribed me Selgamis, a Trifaroten creme. I live in Germany so please keep that in mind, if the approach for treating my described situation might look different somewhere else on this planet🖤
I've finished Cosrx snail mucin bottle. It's a great product. I have also this serum Doc speaks about. Almost finishing Skin1004 probio-cica serum. This product is amazing. Everything because Doc recommended i bought 😅😊😂❤
I really like these videos when you talk about products you have actually used regularly. I used to, admittedly, not care for your shopping videos because experts and skincare influencers always stress that different products work for different people and so I get frustrated when people say I WOULD NOT recommend this product based on ingredients alone; however, I look at it from a different perspective now. I can see a lot of the time, you are going through the products and reading the ingredients then saying "yeah, I'd like to give this a try" or "No, I don't see the payoff for this ingredient list". You aren't really recommending something based on ingredients alone, you are kind of showing us how to be more educated consumers by demonstrating what products you believe would be worth a try as a person just out browsing some new skincare products. Well done.
I absolutely love cosrx! I have been using the snail mucin for the past 3/4 years. It’s one of my holy grail. I was incredibly impressed with the mixsoon bean essence, I use it as a serum right after the cosrx in the morning and I can say my skin looks amazing!!!! I really really didn’t think my oily skin would like so much but I think I will keep using them together for a really long time.
I've been used that cosrx snail essence for 3 bottle, in some case they really helping my scar after stitches surgery, i mean after 3 weeks later ( it's 90% recover and i'm not put in open wound, of course ) , then i put on it and it's recovery fast! But overall, i love it! It's really effective for me as oily-skin without greasy feeling .
I don't mind using snail and I also saw a difference. I might be wrong but, I have not found myself in need of moisturizing since I started using it. For me is : Tonner, Snail Mucine, Sunscreen. Very basic but that's it. (Oh of course retinol and exfoliant but that's before going to sleep, don't like to expose those to the sun at all).
Ty for your honest review your alternative suggestion! I’ve been eyeing mixsoon for a while but couldn’t justify the price AND it’s hard to know if people are telling the truth about it working just as good as cosrx
I’m not sure if Dr Dray tried the recommended exfoliation method where you apply the product then rub off until it pills. That method will give you smooth glass skin if used 2-3x per week. I was lucky I got the Bean Essence on sale for $15 because it is pricey at full price 😥
Eczema skin here, the snail mucin has always been on and off for me. There would be times where it would fix my face and there would be times where it would break me out and make me flare up
I think many of us aren’t using it correctly to get the exfoliating effect. The instructions say to apply the bean essence after cleansing and toning, to rub until it pills, and then wipe off or rinse off with water. (2-3x per week) But for a hyrdrating effect, apply daily as you would a regular essence/serum.
@@mkryuI have it and used it as instructions say and never felt any exfoliation, so I use it as any other hydrating serum. I still prefer snail mucin, as I feel it absorbs better into the skin.
I’ve used both cosrx mucin, the mucin with niacinimide, and mucin cream in the tub. This bean essence blew those out of the water with plumping and glass skin effect. I’m also using mixsoon galactomyces essence first then the bean essence, not going back to cosrx. Reference my skin is dry, surgically menopausal since 34yo and I’m 41, burn easily, tretinoin 0.1% daily since 2021. This bean essence has kicked my already good skin up trifold.
I braved up & just tried CosRx🎉 It was like jumping off the highest diving board...sort of. I'm so happy with it!! It's my layer under tretinoin (topped with moisturizer) and I wake up with noticeably smoother almost poreless-looking skin compared to before using snail mucin 👍
They recommend applying the Mixsoon Bean Essence after toner then rubbing until it peels off then rinse or wipe off with water. This you can do 2-3x per week. Or you can use it a daily moisturizing essence by simply applying as a normal essence.
I copied this from their official product page: “When using it as an exfoliating essence, apply the essence after toning and before other essences and creams. Recommended to use 2-3 times a week. When using it as a hydrating essence, apply the essence after the 3-layering essences and before creams. Suitable for daily use.”
Hi Jackie! Happy Monday!! I've missed you and hope all is well with you. Another hot and very humid day here. We're supposed to get rain from hurricane Debby later this week and it's very much needed. I had a busy but good day. Among all of the adorable fur babies with cute names we saw Java the german shepherd and Wolf, a lab mix. I could sure lose some tea and hope you can join me, my dear sweet friend. My kitties are ready for evening cuddles and I'm sure Miss Fancy Pants is too. Give her one from me. Let's relax and put our feet up while we sip our tea. I hope you have a lovey evening and enjoy sweet dreams. Peace, joy and many blessings to you always. 💞🙏💞🕊💞🐈☕🐈☕💞🏞💐💞🐾🐾
Tried both. Been using cosrx snail for years and tried the other one. My skin looks better with the cosrx. My skin got less supple. And also the cosrx absorbs better for me. So I’m not switching again. I’ve found most of my HG but at 35 I’m sure that will change as I age. But I remember this stuff from back in the day 😂. It has a cult following for a reason.
I personally haven’t noticed any difference from using the CosRx for a year now, but there’s no harm in it for me, either. I’m looking forward to trying other products when I’m done with this and don’t plan to repurchase.
I’ve tried cosrx snail before and used to love it. It was a staple in my skincare routine. For some reason I decided to back away and take a break. Now I’m trying the bean essence. I’m curious how it’ll compare. Today is the first day I’m using it. Any luck for you?
I hope Cassandra Bankson will see this video because apparently she has a big problem with you using the corx one since it's not "vegan" as she said in some shorts and videos. She even said in a recent short to AVOID this one because it's not vegan and to use the bean one instead and she calls herself a medical esthetician, just unprofessional from her. You are a dermatologist and I actually have this huge respect for you because you are putting your personnal lifestyle/mindset (veganism) aside and you focus on giving us professional advices and trying them on yourself so you can valid if they are good or not. Our skin indeed don't give a damn that the products are vegan or not as long as they are good safe and effective. I wonder what would you respond to her.
I love your videos Dr.Dray. ❤ I haven’t tried Cosrx snail mucin yet (but their retinol oil just blown my mind. I repurchased it as soon as i ran out of it. It’s so good and gives you so much more goodies than just retinol, including soy bean oil) -> Now i must defend mixsoon Bean 🫘 Essence: It makes my skin super plump, moisturizes it, looks incredible under make-up or tinted sunscreen and make it more easy to glide and blend. I’ ve seen an improvement on my skin barrier strengthening. It gives me a glowy healthy radiance, without greasiness. Perfect non-comedogenic non-irritant humectant for any skin type. If you rub the essence gently on you skin, you’ll notice some hardened sebum and gunk coming out of your pores, this might be just possible as a result of your skin being more elastic and the rubbing motion. I wouldn’t call this product an exfoliator either, even though it does contain saccromyces, which help with the peeling but softly. Plus, you can put it on after BHA or AHAs with no issues. (Be careful with anything that you put on your body and ideally ask a professional if needed) Greeting from Peru 🇵🇪 Dr.Dray
LOL....I never realized that it was actual SNAIL!!! Love it and you recommended and I buy!! Your face looks soooooo amazing whatever you do I want to do!!!🤩
I won’t try snail mucin because of the cross allergy possibility for those reactive to dust mites and shellfish. I simply won’t risk it. I like the phytomucin products from Vegreen and Isntree.
@@user-hx7mi7ml8u I have a plethora of allergies and have to read ingredients lists carefully. New allergies to ingredients that I tolerated previously also happen. All of this is to say that you are absolutely right.
Bean Essence not worth the hyped. The Cosrx Snail has proven its results for me even though I'm only allergic to Florida/ Spiny Lobster. I don't get a bad allergic reaction. I use it morning & night on my 43yr. old skin. I apply it after my toner, when it's slightly damped. I'm on my 4th bottle now, if I run out or if its not nearby I then use Hada Labo HA Essence instead. I also use Cosrx eye patches which are worth it also & their Centella Water Alcohol Free Toner. I have tried the Skin1004 Centalla serum & use it if I don't use my Cosrx Centella Toner. Great product for me as I approach Pre-menapause & occasional adult acne on the chin/ jawline due to hot flashes. Great Video Dr. D...
I like to add a dropper of plant extract to my bottle of Cosrx snail essence, like centella asiatica or green tea. They have cheap brands on Amazon that have only two ingredients- plant and glycerin. They make my skin even nicer, although don't go crazy because it will make you feel sticky if you over do it.
I was gifted Mixsoon and I'm glad I didn't spend my own money on this. It has same effect as all fermented serums. I think it's to pricey for what it is, and I don't like how heavy it feels on my skin
I find Mixsoon Bean Essence a tad greasier in feel compared to CosRx. It is around 26-28 SGD here, but still feels somewhat expensive compared to CosRx which I can get online for 17-18 SGD. These brands are hard to find in Olive Young Korea though and are mostly retailing online.
It’s interesting that more people are talking about Mixsoon brand because I haven’t heard of them until I received a huge box filled with free and full-sized products from them and I’m not even a beauty influencer (just a page on Instagram). I was a bit shocked but hey! Free products. I actually like this Bean product since it’s not very viscous and feels great on my Combo skin. I agree that it’s very hydrating but it’s also very hot right now, so I cannot attest how it would feel in the colder months. So far I like a lot of the products I’ve opened from them, including the oil cleanser and a rich foaming cleaner, and the Glacier Water Hyaluronic Acid Serum toner.
It's just like the episode in Simpsons where homer was testing products 😅 the quote was 100% realistic "if the product is no good then let the marketing worry about it 😂". Over exaggerating is a must in order for the product to sell. Thanks Doctor Andrea for comparing these two together and showed us the results 😊❤.
I have both products. Don't see too much difference in my skin when using the Mixoon. Looooove the COSRX snail mucin. Will continue to purchase after im dine with this one.
Wonder if anyone here has the same experience : the snail mucin serum works like MAGIC but the cream stings and irritate, esp when skin barrier is compromised. Anyone ? Cheer x
I was wondering if you had used the MBE when you said you would not consider it an exfoliant! I love it myself (58, skincare model) and if you rub it in tiny circles gunk will actually come off of your face, and thats the only way I use it! I love how it works w other products too, to get the glass skin look 😊 I like the cosrx, but love mbe!
For me (and this is just my skin), Hada Labo Gokugin Premium Essence (can find it for $12 bucks) is the GOAT Holy Grail for me. The CosRx Snail Mucin just doesn’t do it for me.
I haven't tried CosRX or the bean essence, but I tried a snail mucin product from Peach and Lily, and every time I used it, my skin became red and itchy. I have obviously stopped using it, and now I'm afraid to try anything with snail mucin. I would love to try an alternative that is appropriate for sensitive skin.
For me i put this mixoon essence on the cotton pad, the super soft kind and apply it in the circular motion after extraction and omg my pores look clear and no irritation from this so for me i will buy this again
Sadly cosrx snail mucin breaks me out. Abbey Yung just experienced the same thing after loving it in the past. I usually worry about irritation from products because of my sensitive skin / rosacea but acne was a surprise.
@@midlifemom5829have you tried their recommended method for exfoliation? The instructions on their website say to apply after cleansing and toning and then to rub the essence until it produces residue. Then to wipe or wash off with water. This they recommend to only do 2-3x per week. They also state you can use it as a hydrating essence daily.
Iv used a sample of this mixssoon serum was just ok 👍. What i do like from this mixssoon brand is there soybean milk serum its really good ❤ iv seen good elasticity in my skin
The CosRx was a no for me. I do love the Jumiso peptide snail mucin. I do like the CosRx peptide serum. Plumping effect with both. The Skiin1004 cica one was a no for me. But the centella is so soothing. Use it when I exfoliate or with Tret.
I share your thoughts on Mixsoon essence, so far, nothing special. First, 2 pumps are nearly not enough, 3 pumps enough. The texture is weird honey like, i feel it doesn't really sink in so i just feel weird with it when applying, it's not really enjoyable. Initially after application and following up with the moisturizer, ok, i feel the hydration, but afterwards it just leave some dry-oil like sensation, don't feel the hydration and almost feels like it's heating my skin a bit. For the buck it costs, I'm underwhelmed. Benton Aloe BHA Toner is way better and cheaper option which also contains snail mucin alongside other beneficial compounds, very hydrating and soothing.
I have the COSRX and I'm not really impressed. I don't feel that it hydrates that much, it's a bit sticky too which I don't like. Not sure I'd repurchase, I think it's hyped up.
the snail mucin made me very red and blotchy. Skin looked so much worse. I even was putting a thin layer of plain Vaseline instead of moisturizer on over it, thinking that would help but it didn't at all. Oh well. Funny how I can use .1% tretinoin with no problems at all, but that stuff messed me up
