Mizuno Wave Rebellion Pro 2 Full Review | Fast and fun but maybe not for everyone

The Wave Rebellion Pro 2 is a race shoe that Mizuno says is designed for elite-level runners aiming to get a sub-2-and-a-half hour marathon time. Like the Wave Rebellion Pro, it features one of the most noticeable shapes to be found in super shoes, with the bulk of the midsole foam positioned in the centre of the shoe.
That midsole is dual-layered, with the lower layer being the more responsive Mizuno ENERZY LITE and the upper the softer, bouncier Mizuno ENERZY LITE+ - of which there has been more added than in the previous version.
Tom and Nick have been testing the shoe to see how it compares with other carbon plate super shoes out there.

I love the flash 2 then I think i will love the rebellion pro 2, I will test it the next sunday in a marathon race. I used the v1 versione in an ultra marathon of 58km!

Well said, gents. I agree that it’s a very fun shoe when you hit the sweet spot, but doing that consistently just requires a little too much conscious thought on the run. I don’t want to have to think about my racing shoes. I will still use this one for funsies though.

Recently got the flash 2 which is also very fast and fun for those quicker sessions. Working well as a training partner to my Hoka Cielo X1s. Which made me wonder if you could do a comparison of the pro 2s and the Cielo?

Shoe with no heel lock is a big problem for me. Love V1.

Nick,good move on avoiding the shoe In midst of marathon training. There are some reports of mild ankle instability leading to plantar fascia issues. Maybe not full blown fasciitis. And I love the shoe myself amount of cusion for how light is amazing. And that Supersport midsole might be part of rhe plantar fascia issues for some. Just too much squish up and down stretching that fascia. Don't tell my missus that I bought a pair, though.

I tried the v1 recently and I felt quite bad after .. and it lasted a few days .. both my ankles and plantar fascia and that area in general .. definitively one of the wildest and most niche and most "technical" super shoe imho .. for "advanced\hardcore runner" only .. hopefully my body will get used to it at some point but I'll take it slowly
