MJ Ballooning | Sunday AM Launch | Bristol Balloon Fiesta 2022 

Fiesta review in my opinion Special Shapes: Quite a large lineup of special shapes this year, beating 2017. Your lineup was definitely the star with 4 massive shapes, Lips was new, Orange hadnt been since 2018 Choc dips 2021 but 2012 if we only count fiestas with the main format and slick since 2015. I loved seeing them all on Friday PM. Daisy, the alien and the J&B bottle were also great new additions and it was nice for UP and busby to return. However shapes like G-LEAT, G-DAAY, Ricoh, Belvoir and chubb didnt attend this year and i dont know why but there probably were good reasons for it. 8/10 Balloons: Including Shapes, 99 balloons attended this year instead of the regular 100+. I think the number might have gone down due to newbury but the majority of balloons were new ones. This isnt bad though, i love the new dark style new balloons are going for and it was nice to see pattersona and G-ZOIZ return. 7/10 Non Balloon Entertainment: Ever since 2013 Bristol has gone downhill, we used to have the red arrows and typhoons but now its just, yaaaaaay parachute yaaaaay random kids show mascots walking around for 5 minutes, however there was this stage thing ehhhhhhhhhh. 3/10 Weather: This years weather was very strange, the wind was light enough to fly but the heatwave was creating turbulence meaning balloons could only fly in the morning when it was cooler, due to this if it was just a few degrees colder 6/7 of the launches maybe couldve gone ahead (except probably sunday pm) also meaning balloons had to carry less passengers. 6/10 Capacity: Other than 2018 this was the first year i had experienced traffic on a morning launch. People crowded the viewing areas making it extremely hard to record, had to wait an hour in traffic for saturday pm in 36’C weather, it might not have been as bad if there were shuttle buses. 4/10 Overall: 6/10, simillar year to 2017
