Yeah, his character is, at best, a tweener or anti-villain. That people love to hate/love to cheer for because he's so delightfully villainous. I couldn't (right now) ever see him has a genuine face in terms of character and personality in regards to like... actually making friends kind of thing. If nothing else, his character history wouldn't allow it since he's been betrayed and betrayed others waaay too much for it to make any sense.

MJF is better as a tweener , when he goes full heel he is way to cartoonish, this is yet another reason he should have signed with the WWE rather than staying in AEW, he could have learned a little self restraint, and how to be a heel and not go full cartoon villain mode. Plus Brit baker is yet another example of AEW not being a safe working environment, considering she had a stroke, of course she is never going to bad mouth AEW, because she is damaged goods now and WWE is not going to hire her cause she is a medical liability waiting to happen, cause when you have one stroke your more than likely to have another.

This is another example of why Tony’s whole “we don’t need a face and a heel” schtick is problematic. Too much “shades of gray” in every feud. We need a good guy and a bad guy, and it needs to be clear.

It's not even just shades of grey, it's not having established characters to understand their motivations. WWE is doing the Drew-Punk feud without having a clear heel or face, but they make use of their promos to make the audience understand who each person is as a character rather than just an in-ring performer. Tony just can't seem to book long term and string together coherency.

Jeff Jarrett didn't have to win the whole thing, have him come up short later on if you want that heel heat for the winner. You had people hooked after that emotional interview he gave about Owen Hart, at least play it out a bit, Tony.

It doesn't matter. No one behaves like a face or a heel on the show anyways. The fans seem to cheer whoever they like, rather than having clearly defined face and heel roles. A heel turn means nothing

Tbh I kinda wished he turned heel later because I kinda want an end to the adam cole rivalry first because in a story aspect, it seems to be not done and still needs one more match to just end it. Heel MJF is great and all but story aspect, I think it could have came later but oh well

AEW produced a huge Jeff Jarrett heart warming package about what Owen meant to him and he was going to win the tournament for the memory of Owen. Then Tony Klowns predictable booking looses straight away to Hangnail Adam Page. This made Jeff look like an idiot to fall at the first hurdle and so much time wasted on this package to slap the fans in the face, maybe not win the entire thing but to fall this quickly was pathetic. Tony Klown's booking is exactly like Chewbacca. Love how Tony Klown put 3 titles on people (I won't call the Buck and Jungle Jackoff Wrestlers), who the fans don't care about and tank ratings.

@@ChrisTomson It was already established in storyline that the winner of the Owen gets the Wembley title shot. This was because people complained that the Owen didn't feel that important. Agreed most other years JJ making the finals would have been nice. But this made Hangman more hateable as a heel

Tom showed AEWs biggest current flaw. They have a faction that is supposed to be top heels in The Elite and yet they don't feel like top heels. Okada feels mid, when he should be a top heel the way they book him. Sadly, they are mid at best. And Hangman didn't join because they don't need more mid in the elite.

The Cole-MJF was done when MJF came back. Cole got his ass handed to him then did a promo a week or so later, drawing a line under that. AEW just moved on.

It's hard to speculate because we don't really have any what "Team AEW" is supposed to represent. Obviously we have Team Elite because they can book themselves in a PPV main event, but there wasn't a compelling enough on going feud that they had with a bigger faction. It doesn't seem like we'll get a lot of meaningful AEW representation on Team AEW.

AEW struggles to keep any form of consistent storyline going so wrestlers are constantly returning after minor absences. Misusing resources and poor time management has become a hallmark of AEW.

@@davidcoombsbestmegadethalb9780 They had three different backstage promo segments that began one way, immediately dropped that gimmick and then went in to the promo they actually wanted to cut instead of just beginning with that promo in the first place, and then it lead to them running over their TV time to finish. That was just last night's episode. The week before they had the Garcia/MJF/Ospreay open taken 15 minutes when it could be have been a tight 8. They've dropped the Adam Cole/MJF story. Swerve's story with Ospreay heading towards All In is overshadowed by MJF's return and new feud which is devaluing the AEW world title. Blood N Guts is featuring Team Elite which is at least self explanatory vs Team AEW which only revealed one wrestler and we have no idea why they would even be Team AEW or what this feud heading in to its eponymous PPV is supposed to be. How did I say anything that was wrong?

Yeah. That was the whole point of his return segment. They dropped the entire angle. MJF LITERALLY said it in his return promo about no more silly devil/friendship bs. To be frank, it was absolutely for the best. It doesn't seem Adam will be ready anytime soon. The fire fore that fued/match has long burnt out. So dropping it was the best thing to do.

I don't understand why they would put their biggest star, MJF in a feud with a guy no one cares about. It'd be like if Roman Reigns returned to WWE next week and immediately started feuding with Akira Tozawa. This isn't going to elevate Garcia because he doesn't have it in him to be a star. They are just killing MJF's value. WWE probably won't even want him anymore by the time his new contract is up. He's just another guy in AEW now.

Not sure how this video popped up. Ive been watching literally 1 minute. For one i don't watch AEW for two, i don't like MJF, and not in a good way. MJF has go away heat with me. I seen a clip of MJF on The Ricki Lake show as a little kid. Tbat told me everything i needed to know. He's the child of a rich jewish family with connections in the entertainment industry and politics. He grew up with a gold spoon. He's what we call an industry plant, an agent provocateur.

To be fair, AEW really does have the potential to be a decent enough competitor to WWE but the issue is the Man-Child at the top who needs to step away from EVERYTHING, booking creative, media scrums you name it he needs to just be silent write the cheques and watch his dads money actually make a profit. Also take the Elite and Pals away from TV since they tank anything they touch.
