The Holy Stone HS510 is a white rebranding of the Bugs 7. Other than the color and method of prop securing, they are identical drones. I have both drones and mix and match batteries when flying. The Bugs 7/HS510 is a very fun and rugged drone where it shows minimal damage crashing into trees. Only the props are sometimes worst for wear. I am so impressed with the Bugs 7/HS510 that I bought one for my son-in-law. IMO it is the most impressive budget drone out there.

True beginner here. I got this drone based on several reviews, including this one. This review was the one that showed me to calibrate the gyro, so "props" for that. Long story short, soccer field is the place to take it if you're a noob. I wrecked my first 2 attempts by giving myself less space than that. Lost a set of props, lived and learned. Took it to the park today and launched it dead center soccer field. I was able to get all of the functions to work in 2 five minute flights. I just did video over Wifi. I cannot imagine going from gimbaled drone to this one, no. But for the price its the best sub 250g drone there I could find. I think that's the main thing about this drone; I could get a lot more drone for the money if I wanted to get a license/registration.

Nice video Marcus! Appreciate your continuing quest to look for the best in the beginner/low cost drones. This one looks pretty good for what you pay. Decent video and good photo capabilities. Great demo once again. As you demonstrated, a good starter drone for a beginner. Short range, lots of features and fun to experiment and learn with. Hey, I remember when we beginners had to start out with a DJI or some other quad copter over $1000 bucks or just under to get some experience. Either that or some little quad about 100 bucks, but with no RTH or anything fancy, yes going back 8 or 10 years lol. It was fun thought. It was so expensive. We did it. Got a lot of experience along the way. Yes we supported the companies with our purchases, and helped make the industry what it is today. Now we have a basement full of drones. ha ha .. Hey, and with lots of memories to boot. Yes MJX was always there. I have a couple bugs myself. They never let me down. You know, as for me being retired, enjoying this hobby, I like many others bought every new model as they came out. Flew it, made a youtube channel and posted some of the flights. One of my first was UpairOne, then Hubsan, and then Latrax, and Syma and on and on. What an amazing hobby this is. Look at how it has advanced in the past few years. We have videos we watch from every country in the world almost. From Rag the nuts off over there in the uk to our boys in Slovenia ha ha ... In this crazy time of a stupid virus trying to kill us, until we can get a fix for it, we can still go out in the fresh air, fly our aircraft, and marvel the experience of flight and friendship world wide. SEEEEEEE...❗ Your patience with all those "other drones" paid off. You found what you were looking for in a low-priced drone. BUT, you called it in the end. After flying this one you'd most likely want to "upgrade" to a ZINO or MINI and then to an MA2. It's the (almost) never ending cycle of drone ownership❗❗❗ 😁 A couple of random thoughts. First, want to apologize for all of our fire-smoke invading Idaho's airspace. It's certainly been hard on so many people here in California and it's not helping your air quality one bit. Second, after experiencing the DJI RTH it was really funny/odd to see the Bugs RTH in reverse. It just seemed 'wrong', lol. Anyway, thanks for sharing your time once again and congratulations on finding the "special" low-cost drone!

These for me are just fun to fly around, definitely not bought for camera quality. I have the hs510 from holy which is the same thing, I like to put a fpv cam on it and just fly around a park. Well detailed review marquis

Nice test flight and review of the Bugs B7. I'm not surprised with how well it flew, I've always had good with MJX product, I used to love flying my Bugs 3. And also not surprised with the unstable camera, MJX could never get the camera right on there drones. And thanks for trying so hard to get the Waypoints workings, but not really an important feature on a drone with such limited range. I think you found a good for people who just want to fly, and don't care about the video.

To shut down motors more quickly after landing. On other mjx drones upon landing long press/hold down the unlock button while pulling the throttle stick down (towards you).

I am a fan of MJX and have two Bugs 5w drones (a 1080p and a 4k) . I've also had a Blue Bugs 3 and a Bugs 3H. I can speak to their durability and ease of fly-ability. My Bugs B7 however is giving me some grief. At take-off it rises about 1 -2 meters and then descends on its own not responding to the throttle (left stick) . As well motor shut down is not automatic and takes too long. Killing the motors with the throttle is not functioning so I have to use either the take-off / landing button or the motor unlock button. I' m working with the Banggood vendor to deal with this issue and they responded amazingly fast which is a big plus! I also fly a black Hubsan Zino, a Xiaomi Mi 4k, a PowerVision PowerEgg as well.

MJX is known for quality drones (above toy grade) that fly well (as well or better than DJI) with good stable hover and reliable GPS lock (not as good as DJI but better than Hubsan). The range of all their drones is close to 1 km. (making them good analog FPV candidates using goggles). However, stock wifi range is usually only 100 - 200m. As always the biggest drawback is the camera. PS. Learning to fly a gps drone with an unstabilized camera will serve you well when you finally get a DJI. I flew the Hubsan 502e/501s, MJX b2c and b2se for 3 years before getting a DJI. Knowing how to fly smoothly will make your stabilized video even better.

Idaho Quadcopter i have the Eachine ex5 on order. A almost exact clone of the DJI mini. Should arrive next week. ($150 with 3 batteries and a case) According to the last 3 trusted reviews I watched it flies well with excellent range (1 km drone range and 500m wifi range). 20+minutes flight time. Again Camera is its biggest weakness. Camera can be moved up and down by remote but no stabilization. No record to SD card. Records to your phone in 4K(?) with lots of lost frames.

Boy, Marcus, I guess a 3-way gimbal has ruined me. Just can't watch a fixed camera video without getting motion sickness anymore. I was into eyes shut mode halfway through the video and spent the other half on the audio. Don't know how you can get so enthusiastic about a toy drone but, I applaud your efforts!

bought this wednesday :) next week i fly it. it is the best drone under 200€ except mjx bugs 5 or mjx bugs b20 eis BUT 5 and b20 over 250g. (license in EU!) and bugs 20 is 200€ with only 1 battery. camera is very good quality for photos. yeah videos are shaking BUT hej this drone is 123€ for me from tomtop with 3 batteries and not a DJI for over 500€

Can the video be smoothed out in post? I remember there was an app for smoothing out pre-gimbal GoPro footage. Great video. I would take the Bugs 20 over this I think.

Great MJX Drone i was considering to buy this one but now that MJX Bugs 20 came out with true 4K and electronic image stabilization that's the drone that everyone has to buy. Finally stabilized image in a mjx drone.

I was disappointed by the purchase of the Bugs 7, disastrous first flight tests (2 chipped propellers in the first instance on the terrace against an aluminum fence and 1 broken in the lawn below the house). This Bugs 7 is not at all handy, mode 2 has two settings (low and high), and as soon as you touch the controller joystick the bugs rocket), and the drone has a too reactive engine. In fact, a mode 1 exists, and to set it, from mode 2 (default) it is necessary to press the 'return to home' button for 3 seconds when switching on the joystick controller, when it tests the signal. Having not tried it, however, it is not known whether this drone mode 1 is quieter than mode 2, which in my opinion is a disaster. Here, even if not required by law, it takes 100 super licenses to check this 'reactive' Bugs 7 🤬. Calibration is also a funny issue , sometimes the drone system does not ask for it, but it is important to run the device until the elusive compass goes off in the controller, and it makes you waste a lot of time. Furthermore, the placing of the mobile phone to the controller is a mess. The phone moves and "clashes" with the two antennas (it seems that only one is connected to a wire) of the controller. Finally, the lack of para-propellers, another negative point. Unless you were born as an expert drone pilot, for someone like me who is just starting out, you can't stay there to order propellers every 5 minutes. Now we will make an attempt to try this drone on a wider surface such as a countryside area with authorized D - flight(italian aviation agency) area at least up to 120 meters, and then we will see. The only thing that apparently seems to me well done is the app Mrc Pro via smartphone that saves the recorded data (clips and photos) in the mini SD card with its slot in the drone, but disappointed that it did not save me the video also directly in the phone. On the other hand, the photos are quite nice , the video in 25 frames per second mode, and not in 4k, without a two-axis gimbal, three-axis and decent stabilization, leaves somehow unsatisfied .

@@IdahoQuadcopter Yeah thanks for the understanding, basically the thing is that above all, the way tutorials are conceived and made, under my point of view, should change, I mean always emphasizing the positive aspects of a product, but never been too much realistic over the unexpected and the inconveniences.

I have a Bugs 4W 4K. Look at my channel and you can see how much respect MJX deserves. If they were to add a gimble to that 4W, they would have something. The 4W will run over 11mps! See it on my channel. BTW Marcus, I got an Anafi on the way.

Video is choppy and awful. Only reason this drone will sell is the fact it is under 250g. I have a few Bugs drones and the Bugs 20 EIS and the 12 are the best ever. Had the B7 had EIS it would have been a winner. MJX will probably have a under 250g drone with EIS soon.
