Pre-recorded or not? Whack as a DJ or not? So many questions and only one answer = The guy is a house music legend! Nuff said! Who gives a shite if he can dance or not? He made millions of people dance with his tracks. Anyone know the name of the opening track? Is it Lana Del Ray? Remixed by whom?
He's a good remixer and producer, as far as it goes as a DJ he's a pile of absolute wank. he can't mix, he can't beatmatch without a synch button, bence the controller, its ridiculous how many people like his sets considering his absolutely non existent mixing skills some of which are just embarrassing! listen to Dan ghenacia's boiler room, he's a proper dj!
20 years ago, this is what made the soul's of my feet wear down...oldskool forever! MK ft. Alana - Love Changes (Masters at Work / MK Dub) MK ft. Alana - Always (MK Mix) MK - Burning (Extended MK Mix)
i made 98% of the songs in this set, i dont need headphones, oh come on you have never seen The Incredible Burt Wonderstone ? ps let me know when your boiler room is online xoxo
I swear when ever I watch these boiler room videos I always see people making comments hating on the crowd! These guys are having the time of their lives and you guys are obviously jealous that they are having a great time at a VIP party and you're sitting at home on your laptop crying and wanking
Loves himself but has some seriously wack moves. But to all the people hating his lack of doing any mixing - I agree whole-heartedly, but at least he is making no pretense WHATSOEVER (he's nowhere to be seen for half the track transitions?!) So he gets slightly more respect than DJs that fake it in the booth
Hahaha, fair fucking play to him ! he's an absolute legend ! He is a highly inspirational person ! I couldnt give a flying fuck about his DJ'ing, Its all about the producing !
DJ MK @ CLUB DOMAIN... opening night on 16th August. DJ MK will be headlining.... tickets here: www.skiddle.com/whats-on/Blackpool/Domain-Nightclub/DOMAIN-Launch-Party-with-MK-(Marc-Kinchen)/12229854/
First heard this about 7 years ago and here I am still playing it 😛 also to anyone who likes boiler sets give Henrik Schwartz boiler room in Germany a listen its a work of art even better with a little shniffffffff
he plays 2 versions of summertime sadness, firstly plays Summertime Sadness (Simon Large MK dub Remix) and then plays Summertime Sadness (MK in the air remix)
so many wana be DJ's on here makes u laugh. What's wrong with going in and out of 2 similar tracks? pre invention of mixers some very good Puerto Rican DJ's used to do this.
Just to reiterate what other people are saying... He's not the best DJ, but he doesn't claim to be. MK makes great tunes, and enjoys listening to them. Look at him, he's loving it! Don't see that kind of emotion from any other Boiler Room DJ's.
im a fan of mk but this mixing is extremely bad, when he's mixing look right through why does he loop it so many times with that ridiculous noise in the background!!
another example of amazing producers that cant mix - DJ EZ is the only DJ I have seen that can mix any genre of music but especially house and garage, on vinyl as well
I think he'd only got into mixing relatively recently after this video was recorded, he's always been renowned as a producer, not a performer. He's definitely upped his game since this video though!
lol @ 24:17..... this no mixing nigga raising his hands and cheering on his pre-mixed stuff. Im glad I retired from the business, but I cant hate on anyone that tricks this many people. You make great music, and I will never take that from you, but this was pure comedy watching this. You got paid to push play and mess with the EQ, and drink and mingle with the honeys. Props.
Can somebody please tell me how he is doing it without headphones and never has to change the pitch or never really touches the decks when trying to beat match the songs ? Is he just pressing sync on his laptop? Great set nonetheless and very talented producer
but you know that electronic music startet in the us right? Detroit, Chicago, New York. Frankie Knuckles, Marshall Jefferson, Jesse Saunders, etc. You know? and I am from Germany where for shure non commercial electronic music is much bigger (I think :D ), but the History startet abroad ;)
wrong. the real dance music that started it all here has never changed, so it's more like 20+ years in the past. it's all underground and you find it in the best of clubs here. berlin can continue setting trends if it wants, but one thing about trends is that they always die.
just arrogance mate, public and djs pay your wages downloading and buying your music and you cant even be bothered to mix live.... mix or get out the dj booth, getting payed thousands to stand around like a goon and fiddle with the eq's... nice one
To anyone who thinks MK sucks you don't know a good producer and Dj when you see one. You probly stay home and listen to deadmau5 and david Guetta commercial shit this is underground and intill you produce your own shit and use it in a set than you can talk.
In one way I feel it's a bit of a let down, but in another way I suppose the set is better than it would be live. Wicked set though... Shame about the girl keep saying stuff about drink promotions though.
Ok so your point all along is I dont have a license for playing music, youre not arguing I can actually do what hes doing i.e press a sync button so in fact my point is proven so jog on.
I think we're more annoyed that they're at the VIP party and not going skits like we would if we had the opportunity... I wouldn't say its hating either, just kinda frustrating.
@ Henry Dowson no it is not the remix. There is a break, but not the same as in the video. It starts right with the vocals here in remix it doesnt. Damn i want this track
dude, I know you're an amazing producer (quite possibly my all time favourite) but that's not the way to mix.... ps i can lend you some headphones if you like.
Are you his mom or something ? i said he is a great House producer i wasnt dissing him he just aint Djing and i could throw this set down on software no probs
tunes are great but anyone with decent dj software can do what hes doing. A great house producer not a great DJ think he would be more at home in the crowd :-)
Love this set, but in my opinion they should forbid MC's in the boilerroom, they interfere on the worst moments while screaming the most irrelevant stupid shit.
It's a cultural thing I guess, same would happen here in my country, not many people would really dance it, they seem to be havving a good time though.
