Thank you for making this serprntine belt conversion video! I thoroughly enjoyed every minute! I have done a conversion on my 440 engine in my 68 charger and no more vee belt issues in that car. I have a 1981 rabbit 1.6 diesel, and with the stereo and amp I'm running, I needed more power than the Motorola alternator that was in it. So I put in a gm 165 amp single wire in there. With the pulley not in the same place I needed to fab up custom brackets, and it all works great, however on occasion I'll get a belt squeal, and need to re-tension everything, and half the time replace the belt as well. So going to serpentine like on my charger would be pretty sweet. The kit from cvs racing for my charger, coincidently has basically the same gm single wire alternator, and I just needed to pull the vee pulley off that alternator and add the serpentine pulley from the kit. I'm wondering if the parts you've mentioned in this video, would my injector pump be in the way of this mk3 aba alternator/ac bracket? Thanks!👍👍
I’m not sure if this bracket will clear the injector pump. It does sit pretty tight up against the block though. I haven’t had any belt or charging issues since doing this conversation so it was definitely worth it
glad this set up worked out for snowball as well, its the one mod i did to mine i love, no more Vbelt LOL. though i still need to get the power steering figured out , maybe next spring we can tackle that and reminds me i need to put a bottom bolt on the alternator yet as i just have the top one ...
Bruv these cars are SA favorites. You need to slam it extremely low and put low profiles on. Top quality. Just search stance is not a crime and you’ll see the beautiful mk1s
i am needing to do this to my MK1 rabbit. i am not well versed in cars, so could you please tell me what vehicle exactly, you got that alternator bracket from? you say it was a mk3 ABA, but i don't know what that is lol
