The mountune high-performance IC2 alloy intercooler upgrade for the Mk4 Focus ST helps reduce air charge temperature and increase performance, all in a convenient and easy bolt-on solution.

Looks promising. Any reason for a secondary intercooler instead of an upgraded main one? Either way I'll have to give this a try in the near future.

What’s that easiest way to remove the charge pipe clips. I live in the US and the maverick uses the same clips on the intercooler. I’m upgrading mine and I have no idea how to remove them. I wish the US companies made something like this for the maverick. I literally had to cut most of the bottom shroud away. Such a pain in the butt .Any advice would be great.

This looks like a very inventive way of increasing the cooling capacity supporting the rather undersized OEM intercooler. However I am concerned about increasing turbo lag in a noticeable way. Were there any pressure drop measurements performed with this solution? Anything you can share about the product?

@@peterszeles2321Alright. I installed it today together with the Mountune/NGK Iridium spark plugs and and oil change after 1400km since new. I have the M330 and the Mountune air filter installed since around 700km. The car is pulling hard! It pulled already hard with the M330 and the filter, but now it feels a bit more refined I would say. No turbo lag or any changes how the turbo builds up boost. Feels like a very well engineered and complete package. 330 PS is in my opinion perfect for this FWD fun tool. Regarding the oil - I switched to ROWE Hightech RS 0W40 which is a much better oil for the 2,3 EcoBoost instead of the 0W30 from factory.

Cool, thanks for sharing your experience. :) I am glad to hear no change lag-wise. :) I am still waiting my car to arrive to the dealer (ordered it like a month ago), but probably will do these mods, plus the mountune short shifter as well!@@miamiandkai

That’s an odd question to ask us, don’t you think? Ultimately we design and engineer the best solutions for a given application - not the cheapest to source / easiest to manufacture.

@@LB83. you retain the OE intercooler, this is in addition to that, to keep it operating in its peak efficiency window.
