I have a 1.8t also, just in another VW platform called SEAT, have the exact same exhaust setup, 3 inch catless downpipe and straight Pipe, gonna upload a video next week, cant wait to see more of that GLI, keep up the great work, cheers from México
I bought one used on offerup but im only gunna be running the midpipe on my VR6 i already have a Magnaflow Muffler and Resonator Delete hoping it sounds good with my setup.
I’m thinking about grabbing one of these but it’s hard to determine the sound quality from a video, does it sound nice and deep or is it super high pitched?
I was thinking of buying this raceland downpipe, but I'm curious when you install does it end up throwing a code??? And do you need to get it tuned/flashed afterwards? Please help?
Coltzy DZN No not exactly. If your cat goes up to the factory clamp then yes it will work. So like if your down pipe ends we’re it tapers down to stock size at the clamp and the rest of your system is strait piped after the clamp then it will work. For this situation we ended up welding the down pipe and the rest of Lucas’ exhaust together since the two pipes weren’t the same size.
Or u can buy something called a cat fooler it tricks the sensor into thinking the cats still in it is generally jus a spacer with a mesh cover at the bottom for your o2 sensors also they were designed/pragramed to work with all that restrictive fow and back pressure not highflow so the fooler will help with that worked for me
Mariusz maxankazuya It’s a 1.8t and I’m assuming your is too and if that’s true then I’m not sure why it wouldn’t match up. All I can tell you is it’s a 3”Dp and then from there a 2.5” strait pipe back, meaning no cats or mufflers.
Sounds like shit tbh i would put a TT Cat back with a magnaflow muffler it will give it a beautiful sound. plus it's loss of power just test it on the dino you will figure it out bigger isn't always better
lito vega well everyone likes there own setups and for lucas his goal was to just be strait piped for two step. It’s not wise to have muffler on with two step. The silver mk4 gti has a magnaflow muffler and a 2.5” catless downpipe and yes I agree it sounds good, but again everyone has their own opinions. And as far as power goes it doesn’t really make a difference. Flow is flow, power isn’t lost it’s just either converted into more or less torque or more or less horsepower depending on the back pressure created by the exhaust system.
lito vega well if you watch or next video, yes it does have 2 step and it won’t blow up from two step if anything it will damage the turbo. If you have no clue what your talking about don’t try acting like you do.
lol if you guys were closer to me in ny i'd give you the mean tune i got on my car. shoot the flames when shifting.(i also have a spare ecu you could buy....for awp 1.8t(gli)
Sir you must be Politically correct and say it sounds like a fucking Honda civic with a shitty fart can trying to miserably pass as a muffler. Virtually any 8cyl or 6cyl are almost impossible not to have sound like a school of virgin girls having their first orgasms, meh a 4cyl is a bitch to sound good, so great vid guys but keep trying, a VW should never be mistaken for anything but...
As the title suggets..why not show the actual work going into putting the downpipe on instead of the other cars?? Sounds like a wet fart in a spacesuit
