It's literally luck. Even the most inaccurate gun will eventually score a first round hit at an extreme range. When a gun does it consistently, THAT'S epic.
@@justinlance4872 It doesn't do it consistently. it does it occasionally. When someone reports that it has succeeded in scoring a first round hit, that's luck. When 100/100 users say it has succeeded in scoring first round hits, that's still luck. When it has managed to score 100 first round hits out of 100 first rounds fired, THEN it's doing it consistently. Or to be charitable, let's say when it's scoring first round hits 80% of the time.
@@Dimetropteryx well when they say it has a 100% first hit kill ratio. That means it can hit the target 100% out of 100 times. Every time not just sometimes. U need to better learn English before commenting
@@justinlance4872 You do know you can't lie about what's in a recording, because people can and will actually check. They're not saying anything of the sort and there's no basis for saying anything like that.
"Is it modular? Is it also a pistol? Does it have Picatinny rails? Is it a flame thrower? If not, I don't want it." -Department of Defense, circa 2021.
Its ment for SF guys who stand alone on firebases or for vehicle it gives you basically small airstrike capabilities so that those guys in the mountains dont get over run by weight of numbers. This jsent ment for main line infantry
Looks like it jumps around a lot. The original design for the MK19 was for it to be mostly aluminum and then the Marine Corps put the requirement through for it to go with steel construction instead. I think this thing would benefit from the same sort of modification to the design.
It would defeat the purpose. One of the primary benefits of the Mk 47 -- even with the integrated FCS and airburst capability -- as compared to the Mk 19 is its lighter weight: 39.6 lbs versus 77.6 *empty*. Adding weight would be counterproductive to the design philosophy; keep in mind the units the weapon is intended for and it makes a lot of sense.
I have the same gun except mine is blue with tritium night sights I use it for concealed carry, and home defense, so I am not impressed. Mine also makes pasta.
Ah, Range 44....when us Weapons Committee guys ran the Heavy Weapons range firing (in the early '90's)....it never failed that the tree huggers would show up and interrupt our range time, so they could go down and count the Red Cockaded Woodpeckers....Since we were doing mortar training, we would wait until they left, and then shift fire to the wood-line, and conduct 15 round fire for effects.....we'd also hit those pesky birds with the Mark 19's......
As an ex MK-19 gunner...when the engineers figure out that they have to buffer the recoil of a block of steel rotating back and forth with reverse shocks,,,,be a great weapon system free gun...
Sgt First Class Bill Dauterive? Hank: "Dang it, Bill! That was my only pair of glasses!" Bill: "My face hurts!" Hank: "It'll match your ass when I'm done kicking it!"
Wow, I have a lot of time on that range at Ft. Bragg, lots and lots of ordnance down range and FO training.... Back in the good o'l days when Hay Street was still the place to go!!! just saying...
Mk47 seems really sweet. I'm sure there's cost/reliability/etc concerns that keep it from being adopted Army wide to completely replace the Mk19, but at least light infantry units, or even just 82nd, 101st, idk why they don't get this as well, not just SOF units
The way that thing jiggles around it must must be throwing grenades way off after the first shot at that kind of range. It looks like it should have the rate reduced to half so that it has stopped moving by the time it fires. Or a semi auto setting so you can do it yourself.
+Aden Wachtel If it's to be employed anything like a Heavy machine gun in a movement support section role, it's actually a good thing the rounds are more dispersed, because it gives you a larger beaten zone and can suppress a larger area and more enemy. That being said, if you wanna just chuck a bunch of frag through a window from a mile away. Probs would want a lower rate of fire.
They also added very few sandbags to the tripod in this video. We would weigh that fucker down to where shit barely moved (in comparison) when firing. You'd have to re-situate the sandbags after so many rounds though.
You would think, there would be designed foot pegs integrated into the 2 posts of the tripod that should be facing forward in order to hold that muzzle down with your feet, instead of having to carry around sandbags to weigh down the tripod. Honestly I don't think they had that tripod configured properly for you LAV!!! I've fired the M2 and the Mk19 in the 82nd back in the day, and had the two posts of the tripod facing forward with the single post between my legs as I used my feet to keep the weapon system dug into the ground. Then again that was a few years ago.
the show did not show the impact of those grenades. What are those grenades against? Naked infantry? In my platoon our weapons were light and within the rifle battalion, we had plenty of mortars to do the job that this grenade launcher does. Is there a way to show how this weapon is used in combination with other units/elements, in a full assault within a platoon and company,
I noticed two things in the video. First they only show the first round hitting the target, but not the rest of them. I guess they dont want to make the round concentration known. Secondly the screen is a crt instead of an LCDs, I dont know why is that, LCD where available at the time this weapon system was made
i was quallifed on this weapon on the idf... its lightweight yes but you have to haul the grenades so its pretty much a mk19..... also ive scored target hits without the video sight and ballastic computers on 800-1000meters..... its a great weapon but needs alot of maintence on electronics.... also it dnever failed us or jammed even tho it had so much sand and shots
Awesome video, that sight is pretty cool. What is the standard for a good gunner to determine a range, apply a firing solution, and engage? Also, that MK12 Mod 0 in the BCM add you intro'd with is sick looking! Love to hear more about that. Maybe revisiting the MK12 in a Vickers Tactical video in the future?
Lol for some reason this reminded me of the video with the Pro Russian Separatists doing a prank on their forward observers where they fired VOGs at their location. With that said, it looks like the sighting system crapped out when Larry was shooting it, I wonder how the sighting systems handles the recoil.
you had me at "explodes over the top of your enemy BEHIND COVER" (time 1:25) then he said it only comes in full auto.....(now comes with a kit for 3 shot firing)
russian be like: 1st round hit? seriously? it's an automatic grenade launcher! IT WOULD BE INTERESTING TO COMPARE THIS TO THE AGS-30. which also a light weight full auto grenade launcher.
If that thing isn't mounted it needs semi-auto. My guess is that it wasn't designed with the thought it would be dancing with sandbags. Silly looking firing like that. Like a sniper taking shots from a bronco
What kind of grenades does it shoot? It doesn't look like a very big boom. You shot like 6 rounds and it looked like only 1 grenade went off. I was expecting more...
It fires 40x53mm high-velocity grenades. Similar to the 40mm grenades fired by the M203 often attached to assault rifles for instance, but larger. They carry a greater payload and travel farther with a flatter trajectory.
