Hello first of all nice car lol I also have a 2014 vw jetta 1.8 tsi. 1 question i do have is how do I know if I have a b cycle engine. Cheers from Ontario
just a quick question for you, I saw that you took off a really small rubber hose from the stock intake box @2:24 minutes in, where did you reconnect it? I was looking to pick up a used CTS intake and i didn't see that smaller filter in the ad or on the CTS website with the intake kit.
Look at 4:23, bottom ish right on the screen,!where the white zip tie is, at the start of the first pipe that leads to the cone filter. That hose is right there, which connects to a nipple that sticks out on that pipe. It’s built in to the new pipe
Just binging your vids man. I got a 2013 Gli ive been dying to start modding but since I’m new idk where I should buy my stuff. Any tips? I’ll take anything
Arseny Razhkov I actually just picked up the gli ! I’m new to the vw game , how do you run stage 1 ? Eventually I would like to go stage 2 . Do I have to buy a chip ? Or just go to a tuner
Go stage 1 first with APR. on APR’s website, using their “dealer locator” tool, find a shop in your area which can perform the software upgrade for you. You will not regret it
Arseny Razhkov how reliable is your 2017 gli man ? my friend is a mechanic and he’s saying it’s a piece of shit bc he hates working on them what’s your mileage? & problems
That little filter that it came with, I assume it’s for a SAI (secondary air intake) and I don’t think the 1.8T has it? Don’t see a place where that goes ?
Here is the picture of my VW Jetta 1.8T CPRA engine and SAI filter drive.google.com/file/d/18hEb4oNrRd14rHPywR94MUOYk4aLf-_W/view?usp=sharing After CST installation drive.google.com/file/d/1NOXD24B2s2Wtr89qf87XkoP6BYHU_q-A/view?usp=sharing
There was a thin hose on the original stock that was positioned to the left side of the air filter casing. The other end of it connects somewhere to the engine. I've watched several videos of different types of air intake install they either mention to take it out or it is never mentioned but at the end result it has been detached from the old air filter casing. My question is that no one ever mentioned what happens to that hose. Is it just left alone unattached or does it need to be plugged? Just not sure what to do with it. My 2016 VW Jetta GLI 2.0L does not come with an SAI inlet and I thought that thin hose had something to do with it but it wasn't the case.
Hey bro i just installed the same intake on my Jetta but when i accelerate there’s this ugly high pitch sound that’s crazy loud i had a shop install it they said they’ve never heard it before and couldn’t figure it out so you know what it might be?
Yes that’s completely normal. The stock diverted valve makes that noise. Replace it with an aftermarket diverter valve or blow off valve and problem solved. Check out CTS turbo
