I'm so glad I purchased the majority of my mods for my MK7 GTI before COVID happened, because prices were so much cheaper. I got my CTS TIP for $45. Now its $80 for the same exact part.
So I had this laying around from my s3 for a while now so I actually got this part on sale too for like around $50 myself lol sooo I lucked out but agreed man everything up in price and no sales anywhere!
@@DArias that’s good! Yeah man, it’s just all a crap show nowadays, and I refuse to pay for anything unless it’s on sale now. I just got new injectors for my MK7 GTI. Apparently injectors have been revised like 4 or 5 times since 2015-2021. They all fit in those years, but everyone only sells the “newest revision” injector, and asking price is like $220-280 per injector! I was like “hell no am I paying that insane price for an injector!” So I did some long research, found all the revised version #’s, and started looking for them. After about a week and a half, I got a notification that RockAuto got some OEM Bosch injectors in, and I looked at the part #, which matched the part # on my car (it was a second revision #), and due to it being an older revision, it was cheaper. $56 per injector! Bought them right away, and they work perfectly. People think getting the latest revision of a part is always best. In my eyes, for some things yes, for others no. All it means is that VW wanted to “update” it for the MK7.5 gen and sell it for more, even though it’s the same exact thing. So I basically bought four injectors for the price of one newest version. That’s how I shop. Always looking for the best option, best deal.
Purchased my 2016 GTI, immediately got a CTS Downpipe, CTS TIP and CTS Intake paired with a Unitronic Stage 2. Got all of this for 1500$ CAD brand new. So easy to make power with these cars
@@wrangler0829 the car already had a stage 2 clutch installed. Unfortunately I’m trading it in for a 2017 DSG because I’m moving out with my girlfriend who doesn’t drive stick and she’s selling her car. Amazing driving experience with the manual
Removing cause I gotta check the turbine on the turbo... buts let's talk about why bro proceeded to remove the inlet 10x faster than ecs's walk through video lol!
I have a GLI 2020 will this work on that?! Also is this one of those mods that you have to get the car tuned after install or you can’t wait a while before tuning
Yes this setup will work on your gli! And no tuning needed for run this. Luckily we don’t have Subarus that need a tune for putting a different kind of washer fluid in it lol
If you do this mod which i also have done to my gti, good luck getting it off broskis it is HARD i reccomend it if you live in a state where car emissions laws aren't strict
@@iankonstantino6648yeah 100% more cold air is more power . The stock inlet pipe is much smaller . Its a Nice upgrade to complete the air flow set up .
Nice video. However, if it were me, I would simply leave the original air box and filter as it, without having to remove all the silly screws. That way, if you were to sell the GTI, you can re-install the air box without all the bother. Also, here in Nov 2023, I cannot find any turbo inlet for anywhere near $100. When did you buy it and from whom?
Any differences between other aftermarket ones and this? See others for sale but more expensive no t sure if going another route makes more sense or since this is cheaper to get this instead
Personally you won’t notice a crazy difference between all the other models unless you get like a dbv2 or mst which are the biggest available. But everything power wise would be relatively similar
Bro I’m trying to figure out how to take the pcv pipe off. Dude just said squeeze it… swueeze it where 💀💀 this sh•t not coming off and it’s making me so angry lol
Good morning guys i have a Golf 7.5 GTI with Revo stage 1 tuning. I have also airbox modded with drop filter.... i would like to install also a turbo inlet pipe and a inlet hose ... Should be ok with your stage1 or I going to lose performance, torque, etc? Thanks!
No tune needed! The ecus in these cars are very smart and compensate for the changes on their own. Not even with exhaust if you don’t a catback no tune needed now If you go full turbo back then a tune is highly recommended to get the full benefit of the performance hardware
Allows for better airflow to the turbo as the stock one is very restrictive. You may also notice better throttle response too from the increased flow. Better spool etc
So for now tbh simple bolt ons but I feel I want a simple setup on this. Vortex standard, HPFP LPFP sensors to have a good conservative 450ish whp which in this would be perfect
Size inlet and outlet are the same but the aftermarket inlets do not bottleneck in the middle such as the stock one which rescues flow. Now dbv2 and mst have bigger ones I believe 3” all the way through but more pricey obviously
