He can swipe down on the screen, reveals the 4 favorites. Tap and hold a favorite and it'll bring up the list of all the available ones. Drag and drop the ESC OFF button on there. Now you just need to swipe down and tap it, then confirm to turn it off, instead of going through the driver assist menu.
I work my 50 hour a week job, raise my imaginary unborn kids for 4 hours a day, do the 20 chores my wife has for me, film for 2 hours, edit for 2 hours, sleep 4 mins and do it all over again… simple.
I have 8R. Was on TMP for the first time in February in winter tires :D 8R is very different in fact from GTI but also from classic f-biased AWD like 7R, A45/34, old rs3. You need a different skillset for that car to be fast. It rotates under throttle when you feel understeer out of the corner, but not in BMW way, very strange feeling. But it rotates and pulls you out of the corner like crazy. See you on track :) Also I think the part of this feeling is narrow winter tires :D
Fair enough, and maybe for some a legitimate complaint if you want to point to something non-performance related (talking everyday driving here not the occasional track visit) Point being the media’s take on the infotainment system is overblown, tired, and BS to a large degree; and here was just another example of that.
Great car, myself i am Golf 8R driver and want to track my car, what are essential mods for this (despite wheels, brake pads)? In the movie it is mentioned that locking kit is essential for mqb? Why is that?
The tips for turn 2 I'm going to try to sprinkle in my next track day at tmp. I dnt have anything near this power level but I definitely get the car to rotate.
@@DriversPaddockhow much is it for a beginner's hpde day? Looking for a good event to take my Elantra N to. Any good groups? I was advised to not just go to an open lapping event
I assume you hit the over-boost button when your foot smashed the accelerator padel hard. Then it caused the downshift. If not that’s going to be a very interesting TCU and need someone unlock it as soon as possible so bad
Yeah, we need to deal with it asap. 2nd is too aggressive and chews up the tire… just spins it. I need to keep it in third. Working on it! Work in progress!
After owning one for two years, I can say there are shortcuts to turn off those functions. Additionally you shouldn't have to turn the assist braking functions more than once. You just put it into sport mode, then press on the globe in the top left corner while the menu for drive mode is still up and access the ESC from there. Its a three click process that I can do easily while driving even.
I had to zoom in when you took over the car and see if you selected D or S for the transmission. I did notice you selected D instead of S I wonder if that had anything to do with the auto downshifting issue you had. I know in manual mode it doesn’t let you bang limiter it auto upshifts so I wonder if it auto downshifted because you previously had it in drive instead of sport and it wanted to do less aggressive shifting/driving. I’m no expert lol my wife just bought a 24 SE GTI dsg so I’m learning as we go but that’s all I could think of. It also seemed like it was shifting rather slow too. Idk if that was a result of being in D instead of S before switching to manual mode. Not sure if it makes a difference on speed of shifts too. It sounded rather slow on the upshifts. But idk if that’s because you can hear it better with the exhaust. Hers is completely stock and when in S or S then M it feels like it shifts a lot faster and more aggressively
I think the reason why it kept downshifting on you is you’re clicking on the gas pedal. Meaning you’re really foot to the ground (activates auto-downshift. Stock tcu tune). I’m sure the owner knows not to do this. Also it can be tuned off if the owner hasn’t yet. Nice driving
Dynamically, it's almost identical to my stock 2017 Honda Civic LX sedan with 6MT (and EBC breaks). Fast time is from breaking earlier and turning into grass (just before the apex) and using the rotation to power out. For my new Elantra N (traded Civic for it), early turn-in (with breaking) would not work cause the car is tuned to rotate from simple deceleration... I like how this MK8 tune better, since you get the best of both world...a stable rear end for oh-shit moment (or quick transission) and still can rotate enough with front-drive breaking technique.
Was he able to turn of traction control off completely? I did autocross and man that thing holds back the car even when turned off in the system, i know it’s still somewhat on. I need to know if someone coded it out already
Es ist bekannt das der Normale GTI andere programmierung des Differentials hat als Gti Tcr oder 8 Gti Clubsport. Das Diff des I30n Facelift hält keine dauerbelastung aus.
Shift after 6000 RPM is very slow, stock TCU is not happy for any power upgrade, anything higher than what I have right now on track the clutch will just give up won’t shift and slipping
@@haojunliangcc weird man, has this always been an issue or is this specific the MK8? The 7/7.5s I see getting beat on seem to take the abuse well enough
@@GolfCoyote there is no tcu tune for the mk8s after 01/2022 due to it being locked. Ive definitely noticed the more performance mods ive done the more the stock tcu tune feels like sh!t the shifts feel super sluggish
Technically, this is it… this channel is a collective of a bunch of friends in the GTA region! You’ll see him and a few others as the channel develops! We are 1 month old today!
@@bmw_for_life8902 Anything higher thant 280WHP is not driveable on the track, even with very low torque map, when doing hard braking and downshift in the same time and get on power very quickly the clutch will slip or the car will jump out of gear when doing corner exit. Need a TCU tune to fix this issue
This car has arguably the best Endless 660 fluid with Endless MA45B pads, the best of the best… run on GT3 class 8-24h endurance race cars. To add, the stock caliper is more than capable. You will hear the owner mention that he has AP racing 9668 calipers on order, which I believe to have been installed this week. The only reason for these is not about pure stopping power, but rather, to get a caliper that does not have dust boots, which can melt with intense track use.
