It's a really precise trick, and I can only assume you can just barely squeeze between the death plane and the track. I think the death plane was put in that spot so you couldn't get picked up while still on the track. It's really odd.
@@AlanDSi Well, yeah, it's a really precise trick. It'll happen eventually if you keep on trying. Usually to get used to these kind of things, I just pause the vid right before they do the trick and try to line myself up with their position.
He used a DS emulator called DeSmuME to increase the internal resolution of the game. He plays the game on original DS hardware and transfers the ghost to the emulator.
it's difficult to jump off the right point to not get dragged by lakitu, but it's possible. You can't jump off too far right or left, the difference is mere millimeters
the kart had great speed, long mini turbo duration and great handling. It can beat the 3 shroom karts easily (yeah, there are still karts with 2 or 3 shrooms in this game)
Yeah definitely, there are still harder strats that can be used that save time but are very inconsistent to pull off on a 3lap. My best splits give me about 1:37.2 with those.
