Here's a bonus note from me. My thoughts and feelings.
I first appeared in 2nd place on this course on 6th November, 2011.
Since that date, I've been struggling to beat Ken. I've been playing this course on and off for a period of 3 years trying to overcome his time, but I always felt short every time. He would either improve his time, or I'd choke every chance I got at the last turn.
I cannot believe it. It feels completely surreal. You have no idea how important this accomplishment meant to me back then... and it still holds the same value now as it did back then. I initially picked up this course as a tribute to Flame, a clan mate from my old clan, Star Dashers, to show my appreciation for his Magikruiser talents on GBA Shy Guy Beach. I was so young back then, and life was so much different for me back then...
Even though he came and went, I've met my fair share of amazing people throughout my time with this game. The years went by and the people I met and interacted with grew; people came, people went. It was sad to say goodbye to a lot of people, but at the same time it was delightful to meet a select handful of others who continued to make the experience worth it. I wouldn't change that for anything at all.
The events I experienced with this game... the people I met, interacted with and friendships I established were utterly life changing.
You just can't put a price on it. You really can't.
Even with the servers being gone, and most people who I interacted with moving on with their lives, I still believe this game has an influence over me. I look back at the friendships I made, the loved ones that I established connections with; and it makes me feel bitter sweet. I love everything that happened; but it saddens me to the bone that it's all over, coming to an end.
The music is an accurate representation of how I feel. Regarding this course, this achievement, this game. It's sad that things have turned the way they have; but the positive memories will always stick with you. Remember that. Hold onto that.
I dedicate this run to all those who had a positive impact on me over the years. All the extremely close friends and loved ones that changed my life for the better; you know who you are. This is for you. Thank you. Thank you for everything.
I love you with all my heart. And I can guarantee you... that'll never change.
If you managed to read all this, I salute you. I know it isn't the best place to put my true emotions and feelings. But I've been holding them in for a while, and I felt they needed to be said. I apologize.
