Agree, Police's & KaiMK's first half (saving one of the mushrooms) till the ultra and Jellopuffs' second half would probably almost do the trick already - really sick strats👍🔥
I'm not sure you realise just how far away sub 40 is. That would take 3-4 more seconds of timesave. Most of the things that 2nd do to save time over 3rd are either at the sacrifice of shrooms that would be used for the ultra or things that 1st already does. I agree that sub 43 is likely possible, MAYBE sub 42 if we're being overly optimistic, but sub 41, let alone sub 40, is just not happening.
Wow just wow but I have many questions: what do you do to find these kinds of levels? How long does it take to reach such a level? do they play on emulators or on the bass game? How do we join these kinds of events?
- Normally, custom tracks can be found on wiki.tockdom.com but for this one in particular we had it custom-made by Epik95, a CT creator in the task creation team - I'm assuming by "reach" you mean how long it took to make the track? I'm pretty sure it was like a day or two to raise the level of the lava, move up a few platforms, and switch some respawn points. - This being a TAS competition, all runs are made on Dolphin Emulator. - You can join by visiting the MKWii TAS Competition discord (link in the description, but here it is: discord.gg/SwqvuNm). This task in particular was incredibly varied in routes between competitors so the ghost comparisons were either going to be custom based on the routes or nonexistent.
This is, unfortunately, his final TAS. This made it twice cf disappeared during task 15 on the first day of a 3-way collaboration involving me and him (in 2021 it was me him and Charlie, and this year it was me him and jello)
