I both half agree & don’t agree, variations were definitely the best part of MKX, but the customization of 11 is better imo, I wish 1 was the best of both worlds & had custom gear or costumes like 11, but also had variations like X, I think both could’ve been fun together
My perfect mk is mkx + 9 roster, mk1 select screen(the fist clash they do in the intros is awesome), mkx gameplay, krypt of mk11, graphics of mk1 but with the face models from mk11 for some characters(specifically Liu Kang and Kung Lao, they’re face models were the best they’ve ever been)
All they had to do was combine MKX’s gameplay mechanics (run mechanic/variations) with Mk11’s gear and special moves customization/Features to make MK1, hands down would’ve been the best MK game ever.
Mkx had BEST combat mk1 feels like a revamped mk11 having air combos and X-ray fused with fatal blow 🫣 butt it’s certain characters like mk11 who can give a whooping
When you look at MK1 and MKX both have different graphics and MKX was in 2015 and MK1 2023 and MKX still looks good I like the Revenant skins even if it was difficult getting them.

Ok I'm gonna be real here. In terms of characters select screen, yea the MK1 look better to me. MKX was a great game, heck the best MK game so far, but that game characters select screen was one of the weakest imo.

After they made Cyrax and Sektor female I really don't care anymore. It's so messed up. I would rather learn how to code and make my own Mortal Kombat at this point.
MK9 was old MK revamped and was a great startup in reviving MK back on the board. balance was awful but gameplay was familiar. MKX was peak gameplay wise gameplay/balance dont even get me started on the amount of swag the combos had variation system at its best, so many matchups and possibilities. endurance system made combat the fastest and most intense modern MK with the return of Running and not clunky dashes. however MKX has the worse story and the roster was wack. new gen chars were ass lol. MK11 was peak in story/visuals Easily the best story without a doubt of the modern MK Era. so many redemptions and closed the book and opened new doors to possibilities. however gameplay was cheeks, combos werent exciting, this game ruined the breaker system.
