I am a little late but for you guys talking about the Fresno ballgirl climbing the wall here's an excerpt from an interview following the video... "Mr. PAUL KENNEDY (Director, Media and Public Relations, Fresno Grizzlies): Thank you very much for having me. SIMON: So how does she make such a spectacular leap, and how did this happen to be taped? Mr. KENNEDY: Well, it was filmed as part of a national television ad campaign for a major beverage company that has since fallen by the wayside, I believe. The campaign, not the company. A production company came in in mid-April to Chukchansi Park here in Fresno. They filmed our game, and then they worked through the night to get this stunt choreographed and pull it off. But the star of the show was a stunt woman. SIMON: And as I understand it, she had some technical assistance, didn't she? Like Peter Pan flying. Mr. KENNEDY: Well, a little bit. This was actually a pretty low-tech stunt. She was strapped into a harness, and there were two ropes attached to that harness that went up above the wall where two other stuntmen were standing. And when she jumped, they basically just kind of tugged on the ropes and gave her a little bit of an extra boost. I think that last one is real. If so, it’s the greatest catch I’ve ever seen. Degree of difficulty is off the chart. Sensational play by that young lady.

There is something so heartwarming about seeing amateurs get a hero moment in front of professionals. The bashful smiles are absolutely endearing. I lobe this kind of thing. Not the exact same scenario, but it also makes me think of Usain Bolt’s reaction when he saw Wayde Van Niekerk’s WR.

This much is true: on April 17, the Fresno Grizzlies hosted the Tacoma Rainiers in an evening contest at Chukchansi Park. And at some point in the ballgame, Tacoma's Brent Johnson came to the plate against Victor Santos and lofted a deep fly ball down the left-field line. What didn't happen (at least not in real life) is the catch itself. The ball girl was a stunt woman, working on behalf of an advertising production agency that was filming a Gatorade ad. However, this particular campaign was scrapped before the commercial could make it to the airwaves. The ad was leaked online instead, where it quickly became a viral video sensation.

The last catch reminded me of bo Jackson. He used to run up the wall like that a lot. But take nothing away from the woman that made that play. It was just as awesome.

The last one was a staged commercial filming for Gatorade. The girl is a stunt woman. It was shot originally to bring publicity to the Grizzlies but it went viral before the logo inserts could be made. Gatorade confirmed it was a commercial shoot.
