I was at this game. Hands down best Os game I’ve ever been too, never heard Camden Yards that loud before. When it was over it took forever to leave because everyone one was stopping to hug each other, just strangers stopping each other every few steps. Os are in a position to do this again this year. This team is special.
The main thing I forgot about this game was the unbelievably clutch innings pitched by Guasman. He stopped the bleeding and gave us a chance. Buck should've went to him a batter or two earlier
Was there too. Loudest ever heard Camden Yards, including playoffs in 96 & 97 ! Stadium was shaking a few times before the Delmon Young 3 run Double. Stadium felt like earthquake! An interesting comment by Kyle Gibson who didn’t pitch, but was on that Tigers team. Now our #1 starter this year, said that the atmosphere in Baltimore for this series is still loudest & best atmosphere he’s ever experienced ! And Gibson went to World Series with Phillies last year. Was on the Adam Jones Podcast! We all know it will be like that again in October! If not louder!
@@chrisfrank2664very interesting indeed! Was there as well and it was a moment I will never ever forgot bc it sincerely felt as loud as any game I've ever been to incl all the redskins nfc championships which the great John Madden described as being as loud as any game he'd ever been to....but I digress as im watching the os rangers 23 alds gm 2 right now desperately hoping for similar heroics.
That Delmon Young hit. Had to go to store with my mom. Mad I had to but remembered to take my phone. Connected just as Hardy walked. Saw Young, started pacing back and forward nervously. He hit that ball, I went "Drop! Drop! Drop! Drop! Drop! Drop! Drop! Drop!" it dropped. Went up 20 decibels in volume "RUN! RUN! RUN! RUN! RUN! RUN! RUN!" knowing Hardy was gonna have to take that one giant leap for mankind at first. Saw him and the ball together, he slides in, saw the Ump go "SAFE!' and I proceeded to lose my shit in the market. People started to weirdly look at me but hell I wasn't embarrassed. I let them know. " THE ORIOLES JUST TOOK THE LEAD!" and the people around me started to lose their shit and I swear the cheering went around the entire market. One of THE best days of my life! I wanna feel that feeling again.
don't forget the O's were without Chris Davis (in his prime), Manny Machado, and Matt Wieters. Would've won the whole thing if they were at full strength
In this game alone, there are a lot of future World Series Champions like Ian Kinsler, J.D. Martinez, Justin Verlander, Steve Pearce, Anibal Sanchez, Max Scherzer, David Price
“Cruz is in, Pierce is in, Hardy around third he’s gonna try and score… SAFE AND THE ORIOLES HAVE THE LEAD” even nearly seven years later I can still picture the Delmon young double
If the Orioles ever get to the postseason again, I just hope the fans make that kind of noise, that kind of atmosphere. This coming from a Yankees fan.
We fucking will. Honestly we will probably be louder. 2012 I think was louder actually just because it was so fun to see us be good out of nowhere and did it in the most thrilling close games.
@@davesravens47 O's making the postseason again, Baltimoreland will go crazy. But aren't you in a rebuilding phase? Will be awesome to see young talent going to the postseason!
The Orioles will he back in the playoffs with all their young talent however when its time to pay these guys they will lose all of them, go back to last place for a bunch of years, getting high draft picks and building a good team again only to lose those guys again when its time to pay them
Chen struggled in his career vs DET. Fortunately this team never quit. Modern O's remind me of this team. Add in DET's bullpen was crap that year, it was the starters that carried the team. DET threw 3 cy young winners at this team, and lost 3 in a row. Scherzer, Verlander, Price. Was a great series.
This was such a heartbreaking series. We kinda knew the Tigers were on the decline at this point, but getting swept by BALTIMORE was a punch in the face.
Put a tigers game that actually has the tigers winning if you don't then I will unsubscribe to you. Yes I am a tiger fan and it's been rough over the last 10 years
All u had to do was see the tigers pitcher's face in that 8th inning and u knew he wasn't going to get the job done. Beat before he even threw the pitch
@@baseballsoffury642 the Orioles showed a lot of signs of improvement this year. They were in the playoff picture for most of the year. Didn't get eliminated until the last week of the season.
