Enjoy this while I make a sillier (or completely serious, depending on your viewpoint) video that is taking some time and will be ready to go after this weekend
Gotta be such a bitter sweet feeling. One team you’ve been with says “we don’t need you, we need something else” but another team says “we want you here bad enough to give up resources to get you here”
Jonny Gomes: went on to finish his career with the Royals for 30 ABs Austin Jackson: Spent the next 365 days with Seattle and continued to bounce around the league until his career finished, plagued by injury Hunter Pence: traded to the Phillies for 365 days and was awarded a bobblehead day, which was a giveaway after he was gone! Then spent 8 years with the Giants Matt Moore: went on to spend 1.5 unsuccessful seasons with the Giants Eduardo Nunez: went on to spend 2.5 seasons with the Red Sox and win a WS in 2018 Matt Kemp: spent a season and a half with Atlanta before spending a year back with the Dodgers Mike Montgomery: Traded to the Cubs where he spent parts of 4 seasons and winning a ring Huston Street: Went on to finish his career with the Angels for 3.5 seasons and a career high 41 saves the year after this deal Travis Snider: went on to play 50 games with PIT and set career highs over his 4 years there Reed Johnson: spent 1.5 seasons with Atlanta after his second stint with the Cubs Geovany Soto: Spent 7 and a half years with the Cubs winning a ROY before being traded to Texas and bouncing around from there
Mike Montgomery has been traded to the Cubs. “This is going to be a tough play, Bryant, the Cubs, win the World Series, it’s over, and the Cubs have finally won it all. 8-7 in ten.” Forever Cubs fans thank Mike Montgomery for this out.
Nitsugir he’s expressed desire to come back to the Giants in the offseason, so I’m not too upset about it as the Red Sox are renting him, and we got some prospects at least.
Equinox DeVilz bullpen man. It is crazy that a team that loaded had its downfall be the guys that are in there for only 2 or 3 innings. They should have smoked Boston in 2013 if not for an awful pen.
I hate the fact that players have to leave right away and get thrown on a plane, give them some time to say goodbye gather his or her things and belongings and walk out the front door (BB reference) but seriously though, give them time they don't need to me sent to you're team right away
+B0GGIEMAN101 I'm not sure I'd call it inhumane to give a guy a round of hugs in the dugout, and wish him the best, as he continues to make millions of dollars playing a game for a living...just for another team instead. I'm sure they can handle it.
Hank3666able yeah I watch all of their games bro but considering the outfielders we could've had, it's disappointing. Everything about Ausmus as manager is disappointing.
JMSF32 in hockey there is a thing called the winter classic and it's a special thing to be a part of and a player named John-Michael Liles was pulled out of the Winter classic and was told he was traded. I can't imagine how that feels
I think Illitch should've have gotten over his bitterness and paid the man his market worth. They signed Miggy to a big deal which has since handcuffed them, but hard to find fault with that: at the time, it was smart, and no one could anticipate his decline. I don't blame Scherzer for turning the extension down-this was likely his last chance at a huge payday, for all he knew, and he could increase his value with another good season.
Still blows my mind that at one point the Tigers' pitching staff was Verlander, Scherzer, Rick Porcello, David Price, and Anibal Sanchez. Such a shame that they didn't experience more success with that murderers row of aces.
Wait, MLB players can get traded right in the middle of a game? Gotta be pretty shit if you've just settled into a city with your family and bought a house and everything and you get dragged in the middle of an inning and get told you're moving to the other side of the country.
Anyone in professional baseball knows it can happen at any moment, and unless you have a long-term contract, players won't usually buy a house/get settled in. In many cases, player's families don't live with them, too.
If you're traded NOT in the middle of a game you still have to move your family & all that. It's part of the job. Military families & foreign service officers know what this is like.
Favorite "mid-game" trade fact: Joel Hanrahan once won a game in his sleep. Literally. In a game between the homestanding Nationals and the Astros, Hanrahan got the last out of an inning before the game was suspended due to rain and could not be resumed until much later in Houston (since this was the last game of the series the game could not be finished the next day as is usual). In the first inning after resumption, the Nationals scored. Meanwhile, Hanrahan had been traded to the Pirates and was taking a pre-game nap as this was going on, however, since he technically was the last pitcher for the Nationals before they took the lead, he was credited with the win.
For God sakes MLB really needs to let the players that are being traded finish the game with their original team, it is incredibly cold hearted to force them out mid way through!
Christian Alvarez are you mental? He was traded to Seattle in the David price deal. Tigers sent him there and smyly to Tampa. Cleveland is also leading the worst division in baseball. By two games.
Christian Alvarez Jackson was actually traded to the Mariners in that deal, and at the time the Tigers were on track to their fourth straight division title

Stephen Sloan first of all, I never said he was better than me. I simply stated that he is a douchebag. Second of all, how long did your dumbass spend writing that stupid fucking comment?
Saw this happen live in 2019 with Zack Greinke. Greinke made his final start as a DBack on July 31st 2019 against the Yankees. He got pulled after 4 innings for no reason and then on my phone it popped on my phone that he was traded to houston
