Any time an umpire charges a player, the game should be put on hold so the player in question can kick the umps ass. Afterwards the game will continue without them, and using the TV graphics whomever controls the scoreboard will then also call balls and strikes.
The umps have always been maligned... but in the last 20 years, it's gotten REALLY BAD... all you have to do is look at the year by year ejection stats... it's not umps are quick triggered.. players and coaches are arguing way more often than every before. Can they get sick of it.. sure.. and with balls/strikes.. the players and coaches are in explicit violation of the rules.. You are not allowed to argue balls/strikes and if you do.. you can be ejected.. no gray areas there...
Hey Umpires and your Union, no one pays to see you! Call the game fair and stop charging at players like your something to be reckoned with. You make the game worse, not better!
If MLB really want to stop these out of control umpires just have a mic on all umpires and Managers. Then MLB review the "conversations" from both. The UMPIRE should be able to control their emotions even if Managers/Coaches/Players are getting on their case. If they don't or can't they should not be an umpire in MLB.
Some umpire throws Jason Veratec out of a game while he is catching. Terry Francona comes out, you can read his lips to the umpire, "Are you F... nuts. What is the matter with you? Are you f... nuts."
Official strike zone - Knees to Letters anywhere over the plate. Yet every umpire has their own strike zone, bullsh*t... Electronic plate umpires are needed now.
Try putting the gear on. It’s not as easy as it looks man. Go to any Little League and give it a shot. They are dying for volunteer umpires. Most places you can get paid if that’s what you’d rather do
Nah, like football, arrogant ass umpires are ruining sports. As time goes on they think they are the most important people on the field. Last year an umpire was so mad at a hitter he called a strike when the ball was 6 inches off the plate. Electronic plate umpire will at least make it fair for hitters.
@@rickallen1908 Nah, you're wrong, and with staggering precision.....the DH, lowering the mound back in 69, the Posey rule, the Utley rule, replay, electronic strike zone, no extra innings to the game is over, pitchers (this year) have to look the batter in the eyes before he throws a pitch, infielders can't block the bag on a steal, or throw in, etc.....the owners make these rules to protect their assets, which, has watered down the game to unwatchable....oh, and female umpires.....umpires, have always been "bad", it's just that today, they are under the microscope with 100's of cameras, and angles, scrutinized 24/7......they were just as bad back in the day, we just didn't see it as often.....and was an unspoken rule, not to criticize them, kinda like JFK, and his women, medical condition(s), etc......all the reporters knew, but never said it a word (unspoken rule)......don't believe me, look it up....and, enjoy watching this saccharine iteration of a once great, great sport.....it's garbage......you probably enjoy the HR derby at the all-sham game, amiwrite??
@@tedsilversyeager840 I started T ball when JFK was president. I agree about alot of the new rules being BS. I don't like the pitch clock for one. It might shave 3 minutes off the game time. I go to a game, it's to relax and have fun, not worry how long the pitcher takes. The inordinate amount of money being paid is why we're seeing the pussification of pro sports. The reason I want balls, and strikes called electronically is I'm tired of plate umpires thinking people are paying to watch them. Home run derby? Is that played in Kentucky too??
They do, for sure, but they are encouraged by the shitty Umpires union that cover for them. In what other industry would Angel Hernandez or Joe West be allowed to have such a long yet shitty career?
but a well programmed AI could provide a more accurate and rapid determination of safe or out than any human. give it ample camera angles and voila! no more missed calls.. oh, and no more perfect games ruined by a blind idiot.
That last one, tossin' the fan? THAT is the definition of rabbit ears. That's BS, you pay your money, you can ride the umps 'til the cows come home, as long as you're not threatening or too obscene.
That's Bob Davidson. He was one of the umpires that was known to have a short fuse. He was on the umpiring crew the last time there was a forfeit in MLB. That was around 1995 at Dodger Stadium.
That fan was making homophobic slurs towards Yadier Molina. I'm no fan of Bob Davidson, but he was right in ejecting that guy from the stadium. Heckling a player is one thing, calling players obscene names around families is another.
The 3:33 umpire is also famous in Japan. This is because there was a misjudged touch-up at the 2006 WBC. American umpire is terrible because the strike zone changes every day.
I think so too. Normally, international tournaments such as the soccer World Cup would be refereed by neutral countries. WBC is just a farce and a show as it is a tournament sponsored by MLB. There will be no lottery for the qualifying group. Last year's WBC tournament was also designed to favor America.

23 yrs officiating softball and basketball mostly high school and youth levels and I observed when ump knows they blew a call they more prone to argue back and ejections
probably doing it to get attention, it worked it bugged you lol. It's not always stupidity. Like some laundromats have their signs upside down. It simply gets your attention and gets you to go/click.
These umps don’t realize they are ensuring that they won’t have a job soon. The robot/ digital umps are right around the corner. They’ll all be pissed and complaining when that happens lol
I think the umps know their days are numbered, and they're getting extra defensive. Unfortunately for them, that is only going to make their situation worse.
When you can't take the heat from the stands, and start ejecting fans, you really shouldn't be an MLB umpire. It's one thing to run players and managers for disrespect and trying to show you up, but fans? Lame assed behavior by that guy. If you have rabbit ears, get ear plugs.
The absurdity just shows how dedicated the league is to manipulating games. If you suddenly have umps doing this when the betting lines will make them the most money then it's obvious. But if the umps are always unaccountable and trash, it's easier to bet on games and help influence the outcome. Too much money to be made for refs/umps to call them correctly
The umpires Union is way too powerful. Ejecting players for being mad about bad calls. In what other sport does the official out on a show while announcing a strike out? Imagine if an NFL ref did a dance or a pose while calling a foul or touchdown
We good money to watch the umpires throw our favorite players out of the game. My favorite isvwhen the umpire threw the fan out. In recent history Aaron Boone was thrown out because of what a fan yelled behind him.
These umpires get away with this shit knowing fully well nothing will happen to them, until someone puts there hands on them, they do it purposely. One of these days someone is going to get those hands
There are umpires that think that the stadium is full of paying fans that are there to see them umpire games. Sad thing mlb is ok with those guys screwing up the game.
New Rule: When an Umpire ruins a game for no good reason, fans should be allowed to leave and have their ticket refunded. I'm paying to watch BASEBALL, not "The Umpire Show"
Nobody in mlb wants To play, coach or call a game 100% correctly and down the middle with full effort, they all have some excuse for what happened and it wasn't their fault.
