The Netherlands 320 squadron was founded in Pembroke Dock in August 1940 and operated as a bomber squadron during WW2. In 1945 the squadron operated from NAS Valkenburg with the North American B25 Mitchell, later followed by the Lockeed P2V5 Neptune, the Lockheed P2V7B Neptune converted in 1963 to SP2H Neptune and followed in 1982 by the Lockheed P3CII Orion. From 1963 the mission was ASW Surveillance. In 2005 the squadron was disbanded by the Dutch government for money saving reasons. Very regretful but a fact that can not denied. We learned nothing from the famous "Cold War". 2022 brought some awaikening but no new maritime surveillance aircraft.
