Thanks Bob. All neighborhood groups need to identify their connecting streets to other neighborhoods and existing bike lanes that when restripe projects are planned they use that opportunity to press for car parking protected lanes and buffered zones. Good work Bob!
Thank you! I know that Seattle Neighborhood Greenways has its UnGapTheMap effort to try and fill gaps in infrastructure. Check it out here: ungapthemap.seattlegreenways.org/
Wow this video looks SO PROFESSIONAL! Are you an employee for SDOT or just an activist? I especially appreciate that you included overviews of how the project integrates with the rest of the network to give you more safe route options. Most of the videos I've seen covering the project just have the person riding along the corridor without pointing out useful connections.
Thank you! I am just an activist who is involved in safe streets advocacy in Southeast Seattle, and I followed this project closely over the years. I do not work for SDOT, but I once was offered a job with them (I had to turn it down).
@@Sivah_Akash That, of course, assumes there will be zero delays from now until project completion, since the contractors have completely eaten through their runway.
It's expected in "late 2025" if everything goes smoothly as mentioned by @LimitedWard, so I kept a conservative estimate of "early 2026" just in case there are delays. I predict they will start full service across Lake Washington at the beginning of spring 2026, but I would love it if they opened earlier!
