Time for the 1957 Minneapolis Moline 5 Star gas to make the change from the project row to the shop. Will this tractor run without much trouble? #antiquetractor #minneapolismoline #tractor #farming #farm
Dan has a joke for every occasion, love your humor. I think this one is a very savable unite. I'm kind of hoping you can finding a 445 production narrow front pedestal for Mr.Squatch 😉 However im sure these are not as common these days as they once used to be.
Loved seeing you and your son and your dad working on the 5 star. It reminded me of, way back when I was your son's age, working with my dad and grandfather. I'd do the work, my dad would show me what to do, and my grandfather would supervise.
My grandmothers brother had one of those but his was an LP. Nearly all the tractors from the 40s and 50s were LP. In the 60s diesel started taking over. The number of any brand of tractors in any area depends on the quality of the dealer. We had a good Moline dealer, the John Deere dealer was mediocre, the Farmall dealer was good and the Ford dealer was hard to deal with.
Hey Moline Dan I acquired 1958 MM 5star not 100% sure if thats right year but I think its close. I got it home and noticed that it runs great and roles just fine throught all 5 forword gears and reverse however it seems that it only works on the high side of the ampli-torque when puled back into the low side the tractor comes to a stop and a gear whine can be heard. In the research Ive done I know that there is an agustment on the ampli-torque assembly Im just not sure how to or if i can agust it while its still in the tractor any help is appreciated thank you for your time
Hey Dan. Awesome 5star. Mine has the beehive manifold. I'm assuming it's from a U or something else. Would love too have your 5star. Lol. Have a great weekend. God bless.
